We held another Quiz night last night. Our brains were again put to work by our questionare school teacher Jo. Great work Jo,and thanks again. Was hard work for some of us. Also a big thanks to Karen Subritzky for making sure we were kept hydrated, and Christine Stratton and her team of helpers for making sure we were well fed. John Nilsson for helping mark and most of all, everyone that came and supported us. You keep our club going. The Cc's won easily, with the Doak team runnerup and the Lomas's coming in a close 3rd. I'm sure we will do this again next year. We look forward to our bowling season kicking off soon.

We have postponed the Quiz Night until Saturday, 22 August, due to a lack of numbers. There is a clash with the Fishing Club Hoedown.

How good does our new Bowls case look. I sent Steve Mason a photo of what I wanted for the club.
This is what Steve donated, delivered and installed for us this morning.
It is dam fantastic Steve, all our twilight bowls will be stored and easily accessible.

You may not want to play bowls, but you may want to help look after our green. If we cant get our current Green keeper some help, we will have to look at fundraising for an artificial green. Our green is the best in the Far North, it will be a real shame if we have to replace it.

The first title was won by Kia Ward in 2003, Kyra Rapana in 2011, both for the first year Centre Championship singles.

We held our AGM and Prizegiving a few weeks ago.
A good attendance, although very disappointing the lack of Social members who have full voting rights.
The highlight of the day was a special presentation to our life members. Marge Milich and Russell G Hockley . Russell was unable to be with us as he was recovering from an operation. His daughter Karen Subritzky accepted on his behalf.
Congratulations to all our prize winners.
Thankyou to everyone that put your names forward, or were coerced to fill a position. We so appreciate and thank all of you.
Looking forward to next season, it can only get better.
We had a lovely lunch and a few drinks to end the day.

Sadly, if we cant find anyone, we have made the decision to start fundraising for an artificial green.
This would be a real shame, as our current Green keeper has the best natural grass green in the Far North. He has won many Green keeper of the year awards and desperately needs to share all his knowledge so that we can keep the green in its current form.
