🚨Community Update – Stolen Football Goals🚨
Firstly, thank you to everyone who shared our previous post and kept an eye out for our stolen football goals. The support from our community has been incredible, and we truly appreciate every share, comment, and message.
We can now sadly confirm that our goals have been located at our local scrap metal yard. A huge thank you to the team at Macauley Metals in Kawerau for recognising the Aluminium pieces as suspicious, putting it aside, and taking the initiative to file a police report. Their quick thinking, along with providing evidence to the police has been invaluable.
The matter is now in the hands of the Police, so we won't be making any further comment while they carry out their investigation & we are advised with more details.
Unfortunately , the outcome isn't what we had hoped for. Our club has lost equipment that plays a huge role in our senior and junior trainings, summer social football, and the support we provide to local schools for sporting events.
In the meantime as a club, we'll now be trying to source funding opportunities and other avenues to replace the goals so we can continue providing for our players and our community 🙂.
To our amazing community—thank you. Your support has reminded us just how lucky we are to be part of a town that looks out for one another. We are incredibly grateful and appreciate each and every one of you !

‼️‼️ MISSING/STOLEN FROM TARAWERA PARK ‼️‼️
We are absolutely gutted to share that approximately 8–10 Aluminium football goals have been taken from our Sports Club at Tarawera Park over the last 2–3 days. They aren’t small & have some weight to them, so would have definitely required a bit of 💪🏽 & a large truck/trailer or multiple trucks to move. The person/people were kind enough to leave 2x goals behind (picture attached) 🙃.
These aren't just football goals. They are used week in, week out for our Senior and Junior football trainings, our summer community social soccer competition, and are regularly loaned to local schools for sports days and events 💔.
As a small community club run by volunteers, we are not in a financial position to replace them. This theft directly impacts our players, our tamariki, our schools, and the many families who use our facilities.
If you have taken them, we ask you to please do the right thing. No questions asked—simply return them back to Kawerau Sports, Tarawera Park.
If anyone has seen these goals being moved over the last few days, knows where they are, or has noticed someone trying to sell aluminium football goals or large quantities of Aluminium , please get in touch with us privately. Even the smallest piece of information could make a difference.
Please share this post in hope it may reach someone who has any sort of info 🙏🏽🤞🏽.
Thank you for your help,
Kawerau Sports Club Committee.

Our men hit the road tomorrow to take on Papamoa FC Bay 2 at Gordon Spratt Reserve. While a few of the boys are sidelined with injuries and getting some well-earned recovery time, the squad making the trip is locked in and ready to roll.
Three points are up for grabs, and we’re not making the trip just for the scenery 👀😝

After an intense battle last week that saw the boys come away with a hard-fought draw, our Kawerau Men are back on home turf ready to hunt down the 3 points ⚽️🔥

Our Girls are up next 💅⚽️
They hit the road today as they head to Otumoetai to take on the Otumoetai Vitality Women at 1:00pm.
Coming off the back of some awesome finishing and attacking football last weekend, the ladies will be looking to carry that momentum into today’s clash 🔥.
To get the result, they’ll need to stay focused, lock in from the first whistle, and work hard for each other across the full 90 minutes 🔒🤝🏽.
We know these wāhine have been putting in the work week after week, and we’re backing them to give it everything they’ve got today.
Good luck ladies – play hard, play smart, and do Kawerau proud !🙌🏽🔥
