Sheeeesh, and what a scorcher we had for Kawerau Christmas in the Park 2024 🥵😮‍💨

With that in mind we wanted to put up a few things to keep in mind while we’re lapping it up this Summer with our furry whānau members 😁🙌🏽☀️

WATER 🌊 NO. 1
Please be sure to keep our kuri hydrated, checking often that the water in their bowls haven’t become too warm.

We’ve found that frozen goods are popular with dogs too as they can work away at them throughout the day, they even love ice blocks and frozen fruit 🧊 frozens can help keep them cool and distract them from the heat.

Our rivers and beaches are the awesomest places for our kuri in the Summer 💯 but even your own pool or the yard hose can do the trick too!

SHADE 🌳
Please see that our kuri have access to plenty of shade, especially if they’re left home alone during the day 🙏🏽

If your dog usually has its kennel in the sun ☀️ move it to a shady area; hosing the kennel down can help to keep it cool too.

CONCRETE 🪨
Please be mindful when walking our kuri 🐾 yes they are tough, but sometimes they’re paw-paws can take a lot of damage when they’re out walking on a hot day…

You can check yourself if it’s too hot to walk them by placing your own hand or feet on the concrete, if you can’t hold it for longer than 5seconds - that’s too hot 🔥
