Wellington Athletics is hosting an entry-level Level 1 officiating course for volunteers at Newtown Park, Wellington, on Sunday 18 October, from 10:00am to 3:00pm. This course is ideal for helpers, parents, caregivers, athletes, and coaches, from any Club, who would like to gain a better understanding of the rules and procedures used at different levels of competition, including club nights, interclub events, and the Colgate Games.
This free course includes: Safeguarding discussion; an introduction to track and field officiating; a walk around the track to discuss event areas, markings, and equipment; an open-book assessment, with support provided throughout the assessment process.
Tea, coffee, and a light lunch will be provided.

Parents of Levin Athletics Club children - you might be interested in attending the Get, Set, Go and Run, Jump, Throw course being hosted by Feilding Moa Athletics Club next Sunday, 11th of October, 1-3pm. Timona Park, Feilding. It is free and you might be able to take your own children. This will be great for anybody wanting to support our Club nights.

We will be teaching you how to assist with club night by running through two Athletics New Zealand foundation programmes:

Club Nights start on Monday, 12th October.
5 - 6pm for Grade 6 and under.
6 - 7.30pm for Grade 7 and over.
Grades are their age at the end of 2026.
Waiopehu College field.
Registrations can be done online on our website.

Any Athletes Grade 10 and over are welcome to start training sessions during the holidays. Private Message to be added to the training squad messenger group, and to confirm days and times.

Information for athletes wanting to compete in the Manawatu-Whanganui Road Champs on Saturday 15th August.
Start/finish is by the Beaconsfield Hall on Waituna West Road. Entries close 7pm 14th August. Entry fee is $5 for registered club members and $10 for unregistered visitors.
Age grade information and race times are on our Levin Athletics Club website.

End of season prizegiving is on Monday, 30th March, 6pm at the Fairfield School Hall. Bring a plate for sharing.

Some of our athletes are heading to Palmy tomorrow for the Centre Children's and Teams Champs. Looking forward to a great day. Levin are assigned to running the discus event, so parents please be prepared to come and help with that. You'll still be able to see lots of your childrens' events from there. I'll have Club uniforms for any athletes who don't have one.

Reminder that Levin Athletics Ribbon Day is this Sunday. For our visitors - we highly recommend that athletes wear shoes of some sort as we have a bad prickle problem.
