2026 SPOTY Nominations Confirmed

The nominations are in for the 2026 College Sport Wellington Sportsperson of the Year Awards (SPOTY’s), and we are delighted to confirm another outstanding field of nominees from across the Wellington secondary school sporting community.

This year, an incredible 738 nominations by the schools have been confirmed across our Code and General Award categories, recognising students, teams, coaches, volunteers and others who have made their mark on school sport during 2026.

The nominations showcase the remarkable breadth of sporting talent across our region, covering everything from our major traditional sports through to an increasingly diverse range of sporting codes. Alongside outstanding sporting achievement, the General Awards recognise the people and contributions that help make secondary school sport possible, including coaching, officiating, volunteering, service to school sport and all-round sporting involvement.

For everyone nominated, simply being recognised is a significant achievement. Each nomination reflects the time, commitment and contribution made to sport throughout the year, whether competing at the highest level, representing a school or community with distinction, or giving back to enable others to enjoy their sporting experience.

The full list of confirmed 2026 SPOTY nominations is now available to view on the College Sport Wellington website.

Congratulations to all of our 2026 nominees and thank you to the schools and sporting community who have helped us recognise such an impressive group. Later next week, we'll be announcing the finalists for each category, leading into the awards. The school sport departments will be in touch to confirm with their respective students.

We look forward to celebrating the very best of Wellington secondary school sport at the 2026 Sportsperson of the Year Awards on Sunday 8 November at Te Rauparaha Arena.

🏆 Check out the full list of 2026 SPOTY nominees on the CSW website now!
