…about last week.
The women’s team showed up on the Monday night having played the day before where they lost a crucial defender to a broken leg and orthopaedic surgery (rest up Rachel). They were only 1 point behind the opponents who were top of the table, but our ladies are nothing but tenacious.
The game kicked off and full of energy, about 20 minutes in Scarlett found the ball at her feet after a ricochet from Marist defenders, so she swung her leg from nearly halfway (like it was a golf shot) and had the exact height, arc, and power to perfectly lob over the keepers head and into the back of the net, *chefs kiss*
The score became 1-0 at half time.
About halfway through the second half, Marist had their equaliser (with perhaps maybe a subjective reffing and non offside call) but no matter the game continued and rapidly got more panicked and turbulent from then on. At the 88th minute and the ball down at our end with a throw in to be had, long throw specialist Louise stepped in to lob it into the box, and with some clever shielding by young Laura, the Marist defender ended up with a hand ball just a smidgeon in the box, this meant a Penalty!
Called up to take it? The cool calm and collected skipper - Sophie. She took that like a pro (what was happening in her head? We will never know)
With only minutes to play it was not over, all the girls had to do was hold their composure and hold them out, and that is just what they did!
All the girls did amazing, especially player of the game; Jes the goal keeper!
They made themselves proud, made their coaches proud, and made the club proud!
…and to those who may be thinking “it’s only cap 3” do not know what these girls have gone through. The women’s side has struggled for quite some time, what looked like uncertainty of player numbers at the start of the season to winning the league is quite the feat! Stop out Women’s side has not taken a league win since 2014, so well done to these ladies! 💃❤️💛

The teams jumped over to Wainui to play a mini-festival. It was awesome to see how all have developed during the season.
Fantastic to see the communication, passing, and teamwork we've been working on by all coming together with smiles on everyone's faces! POTDs: Bryn and Brayden - top stuff.
🔴U11 Red🔴
POTD: Ethan Lowe for his awesome work on shutting down their striker while he was on the field. Our goals included a nice volley by Callum, and a sweet left-footer by Henry. Jamie would have scored had the mud not plagued him. We also saw some fine passing and teamwork by Josh, Yuven, and Rusul. Thanks to Henry and Rusul for their work in goal, and to Zachary for adding a sub. POTMonth: Henry, for his sportsmanship and putting the team first. Well done!
🟡U11 Gold🟡
Ended the season on a high note. The boys worked as a team, playing in their positions and passing well. POTD: Nimi Fatialofa who has been a standout all season. He has cemented himself as part of our solid back line, taking the pressure off our keeper. His work rate is truly impressive.
Every player worked hard and should be proud of their efforts.
❤U11 GO Red ❤
The girls played their best football to crown a great season. Frankie and Sophia both got their first goals of the season. POTD's: Sophia Wnek for her work rate and Violet Berney for several important saves in goal. Incredible season with lots of highs and moments to be proud of.
🖤U11 GO Black🖤
The team all played really well and the goals were shared around. POTD: Jade for getting great crosses into the box. Well done team, a fabulous first season together❤️🖤
🔴U12 Red🔴
Had a lovely day in the sunshine. Shame it was the end of the season! Was a real team performance and so we asked them to pick POTD and they picked stand in keeper Jack Broadley.
🟡U13🟡
Finished the season on the lovely Hutt Park. UHC gave their ribbons to Ethan for first half goal keeping skills and CJ for determined defense. Our POTD: Max Young for a great work rate.
How good is it to hear about the future of Stop Out future stars!💫

Last weekly wrap up for the season!! 😱
🎉First up, a huge CONGRATULATIONS to the women's team for a super thrilling final league game against top-of-the-table Wellington Marist, the girls just managed to sn**ch the needed 3 points to put them to the top 🏆(The ladies have not won a league since 2014), more on this to come.
The Men's firsts knew they weren't making top 4, but that didn't stop them from going out strong and causing an upset to another Marist team (Palmy this time)😈 by taking those 3 points. Webster finally got his hattrick and finishing 2nd on the golden boot for the entire league... also more on that to come 🙂
Rest of Saturday was more mixed scores.
Sunday brought the Women's 3rd game in 7 days 😴, this time against a Cap 1 side (vs Cap 3 🤨) in the Semi final of the Bronze Art Decor Trophy, sadly the legs were just too tired and lost out 4-0. All the best to Tawa in the final.
The young U14 guns, came away with a good win, where as like the women, the U15 and U17 legs just didn't have it in them to take the final W, but that's ok, they both took out their leagues too 🥇🏆🎊🎉.
..and just like that the 2026 has come to and end!

Whilst I'm still waiting on some scores for the wrap up, feast your eyes on the these handsome fellas! 👀
To wrap up their seasons and also an excuse to have a beer 🍻, the masters played the masters in a friendly! Still had so much energy they couldn't help themselves, though some players needed to sub on their kids to see out the 5-5 draw 🙈. Special mention to Lenny Blackman and Trevor Wattam who showed the youngsters how to do it! 💪
These are the vibes we strive for, just some good old fun in the sun football ❤💛

Had a fantastic morning at the Petone Fun Football Festival! ⚽️👏
Both teams battled hard despite being short on players due to illness, showing plenty of determination, teamwork and improvement throughout the morning.
POTD:
🟡Gold🟡 – Logan Dyer: Awesome work in defence, using his time and space brilliantly to drive through the opposition from the back and score some amazing goals.
🔴Red🔴 – Joshua Jacob: Fantastic work in goal, making some amazing saves before working hard out on the field and showing great determination and effort.
👏⚽️
🔴U10🔴
It was great to see huge smiles at the end of both games. POTD: Michael Callus who had an excellent game in defense making some important tackles.
🖤U11 GO Black🖤
The girls played well and showed real determination even though they were down a player for the second half. Well done girls. Another great team performance. POTD: Abbie Kowalczyk for great attacking play.
❤U11 GO Red ❤
The girls never gave up and chased everything right to the end. POTD: Scout Hunter who tirelessly attacked down the wing and recovered for her defensive work. Well done again girls great work 👏
🟡U11 Gold🟡
Faced Upper Hutt Bears for the second time this season. Last time it was a draw, so we knew it’d be a tight game. Despite us harassing their goal they struck first. It wasn’t long until we hit back. The second half saw the battle continue with the sides very evenly matched. POTD: Zachary Harman, by scoring the equalizer with the final touch of the ball before the whistle sounded.
🔴U12 Red🔴
We played some great football, however a scrappy second half saw them finish stronger. POTD: Jayden Stoenber who was an absolute rock.
⚫️U13⚫️
Played on a boggy Delaney Park at the end of the hurricane. Mud and wind were contributing factors, but the boys played a superb game. Great in defense and attack. Everyone turned on their skills and combos. POTD: Aleks Churchouse for piling on the pressure all over the pitch.

They’ve only bloody gone and done it!!!!
