Competitions & Administration Coordinator – Bowls Wellington
Permanent Part-Time | Approx. 20 hours per week

Bowls Wellington is looking for an organised and enthusiastic person to join our small team as our Competitions & Administration Coordinator.

The role will help coordinate Bowls Wellington’s Centre competitions, including managing entries through BowlsHub, preparing draws, maintaining results and competition information, liaising with clubs and tournament personnel, and providing general administrative support across the organisation.

We’re looking for someone who is well organised, reliable, a good communicator and comfortable working with a wide range of people. Strong computer and administration skills are important, while knowledge of lawn bowls would be an advantage but is not essential – training and support will be provided.

If you enjoy being organised, working with people and being part of a community sporting organisation, we’d love to hear from you.

September 1st and the new season springs upon us. Our Competitions Pages are now all updated and ready for you to enter events for the season. Plimmerton Plunder have taken out the Thelma Chapman Trophy for 2026 to wrap up winter bowls for the season. There was always going to be a new champion as both them and Naenae Hawks were new to the competition this season.

The final was locked 13 all playing the last with a fortuitous shot played by Plunder skipper Graham Down capturing the shot and Naenae's Peter Ballinger missing with his last giving Plimmerton the win.

The Nulook Nomads, a team of players who had no team, have come out and won the Nulook National U26 Five-a-Side for 2026. They beat a spirited Bowls Canterbury side who nearly defended their title from last year.

What an amazing weekend of bowls for the youth in our sport. Huge thanks to Mark Jacombs and Jane Bambery our Tournament Managers. Especially thanks to Nulook Kapiti for their continued support of our Youth Program, and to Pelorus Trust who have helped in the running of this event.

The final two have been decided with Bowls Canterbury looking to defend their title from last year while the Nulook Nomads look to take home the trophy for the first time.

The weather may look terrible outside, but its heating up on the indoor green at Naenae Bowling Club. Come on down and watch the best Under 26 Players in the country go head to head to see who will be crowned the National Champion.

Day 1 of the Under 26 5 a Side is over and wow wee what a day of play. We have seen games go right down to the wire across the paddock and the quality of play on display is truly brilliant.

In section 1 we have Canterbury in the lead with 6 wins from 8 matches on the day. They are followed by Wellington who have 5 from 6 wins for the day.

In section 2 Auckland and Nulook Nomads look to be in the box seat with both teams on 15 points for the day.

The best Under 26 players in the country are playing their hearts out at Naenae Bowling Club all to be crowned the number 1 under 26 side in the country.

Defending Champs Bowls Canterbury made a fantastic start beating new comer North Harbour. Bowls Taranaki also made a great start with their highly rated players winning over Bay of Plenty.
