One of our sponsors that often flies under the radar is GurneyGoo . While you may never notice the team using Gurney Goo, it is a piece of kit that the team never leaves home without. Gurney Goo is an anti chafing, anti blister and anti infection cream so we don't really have to explain why its such a critical bit of kit when adventure racing, but we thought we should anyway. Over the next wee while the team will be sharing some of our stories from races, and letting you know what the go with the goo is. In this case we will be sheding abit of light on one of the ways we use Gurney Goo during a race.

This photo is from the teams last hit out at Wtf. This is a pretty standard scene with the team making the most of a chance to stop and sort themselves out before going back to war with Fiordland's bush. You can see while Molly is hunting down a fed from her pack and Deano is taking a moment to study the maps and sort out a plan of attack, Fynn is taking a moment to do abit of Gurney Gooage. This is a smart move from the young whipper snapper. At this stage of the race the team was about 30 hours in, most of which had been walking with wet feet. The team also had another 20 or so hours of treking in front of them. The Goo fynn is putting on his feet not only is going to help prevent blisters but also will protect against infection. You can also see fynn is about to take some Goo down town, who knows maybe he was suffering from the dreaded ass crack chaffing haha. Prevention is the best cure and so you will often see us at this stage of a race, stopping and sorting these sorts of things out. It is always better to get on top this stuff early, as once chaffing, blisters or foot infection take hold, it is impossible to sort out until after the race is over. Needless to say Fynn and the rest of the team's feet didn't let them down as they went on to win the race.

Next time your out on a mission try stopping and rubbing abit of Gurney Goo on your feet. You'll see why it is such an important part of our race and why we are so stoked to have Gurney Goo supporting us. Cheers guys

With GurneyGoo in all the right places we ran, biked and paddled our way through 100hrs at the Raid100 in Australia last week to pull off the win, time to restock!

Did you know that GurneyGoo comes in handy little race size tubes that you can throw in the belt pocket of your hydration vest to access quickly during a race. It's great to use if straps or your pack are rubbing, if you feel hot spots on your feet or even for dry lips. Grab a bunch for your race kit!
