Small but mighty! Great to see results like this in our region!

🏆BACK-TO-BACK CHAMPIONS! 🏆

What an incredible achievement for our Pony Club Show Hunter Team, taking out the Manawatū Pony Club Show Hunter Championships for the SECOND YEAR IN A ROW!

To win this championship once is an amazing achievement — to come back and do it again the following year is something really special. It takes an enormous amount of hard work, commitment, teamwork and dedication from the whole team.

A huge thank you to our fantastic coaches, Hollie & Sonia, for all the time, knowledge, encouragement and hard work they put into our riders and horses. Your commitment and dedication have played such a huge part in this success.

A massive thank you also to our wonderful managers, Nat & Lucy, for all the organising, planning and work behind the scenes. We appreciate you!

And of course, the biggest congratulations to our young riders - Briar Wilkinson, Naya Boone, Sadie Gleeson, Farrah Smith, Annabel McKenzie, Sasha Fairbrother, Mackenzie Boderick and Lucy McKinstry. The commitment you have shown, turning up to practices, working hard in some pretty awful winter conditions, learning, improving and giving it your all has been amazing to watch. You should all be incredibly proud of yourselves!

And to the parents, families and supporters — thank you for giving up your weekend and braving some pretty miserable weather, all the driving, horse care, practice sessions, preparation, encouragement and everything else that goes into getting our riders and ponies to where they need to be. It truly takes a village!

We would also like to extend a huge thank you to the organisers, volunteers and sponsors of the Manawatū Pony Club Show Hunter Championships. Events like this simply don’t happen without the incredible amount of time, effort and support that goes on behind the scenes. Thank you for creating the opportunity for our young riders to compete, challenge themselves and enjoy their sport. We truly appreciate everything you do to make this event possible.

We are so incredibly proud of you all. Congratulations, team — what an achievement! And what weekend for our Pony Club winning two seperate events on the same weekend - GO WAIRARAPA!!

🐾DOG WALKING REMINDER

We’ve noticed a large increase in dog mess being left around the ovals, so a friendly reminder to all our dog walkers - please pick up after your dogs! 💩🐶

We’re happy to have our grounds enjoyed by local dog walkers, but keeping them clean is everyone’s responsibility. Please bring a bag, pick up after your dog, and dispose of it appropriately.

We do notice sometimes that people are concentrating on their phones or are deep in conversation with a companion while their dogs are out of their line of site, so please make sure you are watching what your dog is doing.

If the problem continues, unfortunately we may have to revoke access to the grounds as a dog-walking area — and that would be a real shame for everyone who does follow the rules and enjoys bringing their dogs here. 😔

Unfortunately we are unable to police this 24/7, and we do appreciate and acknowledge those of you who have gone above and beyond by picking up mess others have left behind - thank you so much! 🙏

Please continue to help us keep the grounds clean, safe and enjoyable for everyone. Pick it up, bag it up, bin it! 🐾

Thanks for your help and consideration. ❤️
