This partnered event is all about creating opportunities for young people who might otherwise miss out!

Developed in collaboration between Kia Hākinakina and the Halberg Foundation, it’s a chance for rangatahi aged 5–21 years with a disability to come along, try different sports, and have some fun. 🏃‍♀️🏀🏸

💲 $30 per day OR $50 per day for two kids

Commencing Friday 18th September 2026 for 7 weeks.

Each team will play 2 x games per evening, with a full draw done when registrations close.

Games will be 12 minutes duration, between 5.15pm and 7.15pm.

$ 160.00 per team ($40 per player based upon a squad of 4).

Teams of 3 + 1 max, secondary school age and above - any gender.

2 grades - Competitive and Social with an 8 teams limit per grade - first in, first confirmed.

Entry fee to be paid by commencement of 2nd week at the latest - otherwise additional charges may be applied.

Kia Hākinakina Wairarapa, Just A Game and are please to offer this generic, coach education opportunity to the South Wairarapa, on behalf of a range of the regions sporting entities.

When: Wednesday 5th August 2026
Time: 6:30pm – 8:30pm
Location: Kuranui College Student Centre, Greytown

Join us and engage with locally-based, national leading expertise for an active, interactive evening - focussing on modern coaching, using constraint and game-based approaches - applicable to any sport and any level of participant.
The evening will flow from the generic through to sport specific, with elements of using social models to influence behaviour and culture, and other add-ons including athlete welfare.
A snap-shot of all that is great about coaching - and the South Wairarapa start of a local model of support and education.

In addition to Tom's awesome basketball achievements, he also gives back to the community by volunteering for Kia Hākinakina. Every week, he joins Patrick and Regan on our school deliveries, encouraging young people to build confidence and enjoy being active.
