*****Premier Pre-Season T20 Results*****

The annual pre-season tournament is always a great opportunity to dust off the cobwebs for players returning from a break, and to also gel new players into the team.

Our first match was on Friday against Howick.
We won the toss and batted first. After a poor start we batted our overs to score 80/8 from 20 overs. Best of the batters was Manny Gohil with 32 from 36 balls.
In reply Howick chased down the total at 3 wickets down, to win by 7 wickets in the 11th over. Best of the bowlers was Reid McGrath with 1/6 from 1.2 overs.

NOMBCC would like to express our condolences to Mark’s family and friends over his passing.

Mark was made a life member of NOBMCC in 2005 for his services both on and off the field for first Marist CC and later the merged club.

He will be sadly missed.

We are saddened to acknowledge the passing of NOBM Club Member Mark O’Dowd. Mark was a proud Napier Marist sportsman, representing the club in both rugby and cricket, and we remember his contributions and the time he spent as part of the NOBM sporting community.

We extend our deepest sympathies to Donna, Mark’s family and his many friends at this very sad time.

O'DOWD, Mark John
01.02.1958 – 20.09.2026

Deeply loved husband and bestie of Donna. Incredible Dad to Ella, Hannah and Moti. The best Poppa to Gus, Kaiahi, Beaudie, Molly, Kahutia, Willa-Jane, Raukawa and Nikora. Beloved brother of Mary, Louise, Simon and Jonathan. Loved uncle and great-uncle to many nieces and nephews. A favoured colleague and boss to many, and dearly loved by all his friends.

A service to celebrate Marky's beautiful but short life will be held at The Napier Old Boys Marist Clubrooms, Friday 25th September at 11am. Visitors are welcome at 30 Nelson Crescent, Napier.

Moe mai rā, Marky. Forever in our hearts.
