Kiwi paddler Peter Cowan claims bronze in thrilling Paralympic canoe sprint debut Cowan didn't know he had claimed a medal until almost a minute after the finish.

We are a week out from the Para Canoe at the Paris 2024 Paralympics, so what better time to meet the first of our kiwi paddlers! ⬇️ Introducing Peter Cowan 🌿🖤 Para athlete Peter Cowan competes in an adaptive version of waka ama, known internationally as Para va’a, which is a division of Para canoe at the Paralympic Games. Peter competes in the VL3 classification. In May of this year, Peter achieved a silver medal in the va’a at the ICF Paracanoe World Championships in Szeged – a remarkable milestone in his paddling career. We wish Pete all the best at his first Paralympics 🌟
