Blokart Hawkes Bay

This video shows the result of 10 weekly 30 minute teaching sessions for sixteen 10 to 12 year olds. After being taught how to rig and derig the kart, basic handling, how to tack and jibe, sailing rules, what apparent wind is and how to optimize speed around a track, they were then allowed to actually race each other!.

This is the result. What you don't see is the boost in their confidence, their courage to try something new, their bravery when things don't go rght, and the blokart grin on their face at the end of each session.

We have had 18 school groups through this past year, ages ranging from 10 to 17. Group sizes were 10 to 50.
