Got asked the other day how I keep going when it seems like there’s so many people against legal gun owners… pure spite is apparently not the “right” answer so there’s the rest of my list. My Old Boss Terry Kinloch once told me “I’m a tankie, if you’re in the right and somethings in your way and not moving let me know and I’ll crush it while blasting” - and you guys think a killdozer is cool 😂

Get your local club/range signed up - we are!
We are thrilled to announce that this summer, COLFO is launching a new pilot programme to get more people onto shooting ranges and trying shooting sports for the very first time.
Try Shooting This Summer is a partnership between COLFO and Gun City. The aim is simple: a safe, supervised open day on a real range, so someone new can try .22LR and .223, meet a local club, and see what our community is actually about.
Here is what a host club gets. Gun City supplies the .22LR and .223 am******on and if they have a store nearby, a r***e or two. COLFO will design the ads and run the digital advertising campaign. All clubs need to manage is running the open day at their club.
Clubs pay a minimum of $50 a week for that advertising. COLFO takes none of it. Every dollar goes to promoting your open day.
We have limited the pilot to 15 clubs so we can do it properly. 9 of 15 slots are still open. If it works, you can expect it to grow next year.
If you run a club and want in, sign up here:

And if you already shoot: tag the friend you would take with you below. Two lucky winners will each receive a Game On Shooting Gear Seat and a Trailmate 900ml Insulated Tumbler courtesy of Gun City, so the two of you can sit down after and have a non-alcoholic drink together.
If you have been waiting to try or want to see the sport grow, tell your club. This is how we grow the sport and teach more people about our community.

Here’s your periodic reminder that if you give them an moa they will take a mrad! This is why we are proud members of both Sporting Shooters Association of New Zealand and COLFO because their teams of volunteers are out finding these gems. Protect our sport and consider joining their organisations too.
Thanks to our friends at Sporting Shooters Association of New Zealand, an Official Information Act response has revealed the existence of a previously unknown Arms Act submission from 2025. We are currently seeking the full document.
While the existence of this particular submission was not known to us, the policy positions it reflects from the Fi****ms Safety Authority are all too familiar. Button-action and lever-action fi****ms are not the end goal, they are the opening position. This is now confirmed in official documentation.
As the Fi****ms Safety Authority NZ is dissolved and replaced by the new Fi****ms Safety Entity, one critical question remains: will the same personnel who have driven these attitudes simply be transferred into equivalent roles?
New Zealand’s licensed fi***rm owners need a genuine culture change in the regulator and not a third uniform change.
🤫 just a 223 in a chassis you’ll learn more about soon - but anyway who else is a fan of an LPVO?
Why do gun store make out that setting up a scope is some kind of dark art? It’s not that hard but if you want a hand we’re here to help - either freely ask your questions in the comments and we will try to answer with a video or book yourself in for a lesson. Ps our membership comes with a free lesson so you don’t go wasting ammo when you get to the the range, nothing worse than hearing about how you wasted 3 boxes of ammo trying to sight-in before finally booking a lesson for the cost of 2 😎
