Nice day for a delivery trip. We're looking forward to handing all these over to lucky new owners tomorrow. Two racing singles, two coastal singles, two XL coastal singles. A good representation of the Swift Racing NZ fleet!

Dreaming of rowing Cook Strait? It was great to catch up with Jamie Strang recently during his visit to Nelson. Jamie was an early purchaser of a Swift CO1x in 2021. While he didn't have a rowing history, he did have an adventure in mind. Years ago Jamie had cycled the length of NZ, now he wanted to 'fill in the gap' by rowing across Cook Strait. A farmer in the Wairarapa, far away from any rowing clubs, he taught himself to row on a small local hydro lake. He trained for over two years, had a trial expedition by rowing the length of Lake Taupo (pictured here), and finally made his successful trip across the Strait (with a support boat in attendance) in July 2024. The day after he turned 76! Inspiring stuff.

Delivery drive today. One lucky person will be rowing a brand new 124 racing single at South Island Secondary School Champs next weekend. This is the same fast hull shape that won the Mens' Premier single at NZ Rowing National Champs.

Congratulations to Finn Hamill of Waikato Rowing Club , winner of the Mens Premier Single at the 2026 NZ Rowing Championships.
Finn has rowed the Swift Racing Carbon Pro (in a range of conditions!), through the Christmas Regatta, North Island Club Champs, and Rowing NZ National Championships, winning all three events.
Thanks to Pictureshow for the always fab photos.

Boat lights! The days are getting shorter - are your crews visible on these dark mornings? We get great feedback about our boat lights, with magnets to fix onto the number holder. Rechargeable, LED (red or white), super-bright. We'll be at Nationals later this week, or can courier to you. https://www.swiftracing.nz/rowingaccessories or email [email protected]

We just had a huge weekend for coastal rowing in NZ: the Beach Sprints NZ Summer Series got underway on Orewa Beach, while 3 Kiwis were racing (and winning!) on the other side of the world at the Prince Albert Challenge Cup in Monaco. Big fun all round 😁
New Zealand's coastal rowing scene is showing impressive momentum, highlighted by Sacred Heart coxswain Ryan Slater's recent victory in Monaco alongside elite competitors, including Olympic champion Karolien Florijn.
The sport's inclusive nature and dynamic atmosphere are proving major drawcards, with Beach Sprints New Zealand Event Director David Vallance noting that "everyone's connected" in the intimate beach setting.
Upcoming events at Papamoa and Titahi Bay promise to maintain the sport's upward trajectory here in Aotearoa, with world champion Emma Twigg set to share her expertise at a training camp ahead of the national championships.
