Tegen's performance now see her elevated into the 3km knock out event tomorrow!
It was a big day two for our New Zealand team at the World Aquatics Junior Open Water Championships in Argentina, with six Kiwis in action across the 7.5km and 5km distances!
πββοΈ Men's 7.5km
Tyler Lushkott (North Shore) dug deep for 22nd place, finishing under three minutes outside the top-10 in a close field toward the front of the race. Sheldon Hogan (Mount Maunganui) finished 36th in a stacked field of 52 competitors.
πββοΈ Women's 7.5km
Tegen Stewart (Nelson South) placed 26th, with Maeve McDonnell (Howick Pakuranga) not far behind in 33rd, with the duo racing a field of 46 swimmers.
πββοΈ Men's 5km
15-year-old Dominic Barton (North Shore) was in strong form, placing 17th out of 42 swimmers β just over a minute outside the top-10.
πββοΈ Women's 5km
Amelia McEwan (Mount Maunganui) took 17th in a field of 40 swimmers, an impressive swim from the 14-year-old!
Some great swims across the board today from our New Zealand team, with the team soaking up the experience to compete at this level π€π€π³πΏ
Day three will see four New Zealand swimmers compete across 3km Knock Out Sprint events, with racing kicking off from 1:00am NZST on Sunday. Let's go, team!

We are wrapped from Dunedin! Brooke took Gold in 50 Fly James and Catherine silver in same event. Silver fro Maddie 200 back James Bronze 100 Br and Catherine and Keisha sliver and bronze 100 IM. Lilliana picked ip her first NAGs time in 100 Br!

Its an 8 medal extravaganza!! Brooke Gold in 100 Fly, Catherine Gold 400 IM bronze 100 Fly, Harriett Silver 100 Fly, Keisha Bronze 50 Back ,Macey Silver 50 Br, Maddie Sliver 50 Back, James Silver 100 Fly. Final day tomz!!

What a start! 10 finals tonight Harriett leading the way with Gold in the 15/16 200 Fly, Keisha with a pb to take Bronze in the 100 back. 4th pace finishes and pbs for James 200 IM Phoebe in the 1500 and Catherine dropping 2secs in 200 IM to get NZSC qualification. Brooke swimming butterfly in the free final took 4th, Lilliana cracked the 3.00min barrier in the 200 Br for the first time in 5th spot.

A poignant end to SNM Short Course Championships. This is our region's premier meet of the winter bringing together our wider swimming community.
