🤔 Myth vs Fact
Myth: Lifting weights is bad for your joints.
Fact: The right kind of strength training can actually be good for your joints. 💪
When you use appropriate weights, good technique and gradual progression, strength training can help:
🦴 Strengthen the muscles that support your joints
💪 Improve stability and movement
🦵 Build stronger bones
❤️ Improve overall physical function
🛡️ Reduce your risk of injury
And no, you don’t need to lift heavy to benefit. The right load is one that challenges you appropriately for your current ability.
Your joints aren’t something you need to be afraid of using. They’re something worth making stronger.
Train smart. Start where you are. Build from there. 💪

STRUGGLING TO FEEL YOUR LATS DURING PULLDOWNS? 👀
If you’re feeling your biceps more than your back, try changing the way you think about the movement.
Instead of thinking “pull the bar to my chest”, think:
👉🏼 “Drive my elbows down towards my hips.”
This helps you focus on moving through the elbows and can make it much easier to actually connect with your lats 💪🏼
A few other quick tips:
• Keep your chest lifted
• Avoid swinging or leaning back excessively
• Control the weight on the way back up
• Think about your elbows moving down, not your hands pulling the bar
Sometimes a simple change in your cue can completely change how an exercise feels!
Save this for your next back workout & give it a try 🔥

You don’t have to be the strongest, fastest or fittest person in the room. You just have to show up. 💛
Every workout is win - every rep, every step, every time you choose to come through the doors instead of staying home.
Because progress isn’t about competing with everyone else. It’s about becoming a stronger, healthier and more confident version of you. 💪
Show up for yourself. You’ll never regret it.

💪 FINDING PUSH-UPS TOO DIFFICULT?
Don’t skip them altogether! Just make the exercise work for your current strength level.
Start with your hands on a bench or elevated surface and focus on controlled, quality reps. As you get stronger, gradually lower the height until you’re ready to work towards a floor push-up.
Remember: modifying an exercise isn’t making it easier - it’s making it appropriate for you and where you are at right now. 🙌
Progress doesn’t happen overnight. Keep practising, keep building strength and celebrate the little improvements along the way! 💪

Getting older is inevitable. Losing your strength, mobility and independence doesn’t have to be.
Your reason for exercising might change as you get older.
Maybe it’s not about chasing a certain number on the scales anymore. Maybe it’s about having the strength to lift your grandchildren, getting up off the floor with ease, travelling without worrying about your body, or simply staying independent for as long as possible.
Fitness isn’t just about how you look today. It’s about what your body will allow you to do tomorrow. ❤️
Start building that strength now.

🦵 Do you find that your squats are hurting your knees?
Knee discomfort doesn’t automatically mean you need to ditch squats! 👀
Sometimes a small adjustment can make a big difference. Try playing around with your stance, depth, weight, tempo or even elevating your heels to find a squat variation that feels more comfortable for you.
There’s no one “perfect” way to squat - the best variation is one that suits your body, your goals and your current ability. 💪
And if you’re unsure what adjustment to make, or there is no relief despite trying the above suggestions - it would be a perfect time to get in touch with one of our awesome Personal Trainers for a further assessment and guidance. That’s exactly what we’re here for! 🙌
