Ken Ashi Do Karate

Over the years I have been asked many times why did I start my own style of karate and leave a established system that I had done for just over 15 years. Easy I am a simple person. I have never wanted to be world wide style. Not interested in all the flashy ads. I have and always have just want to teach and make a difference to people which I have done over my 55 plus years. Quality not quantity. Respect 🙏

I have spent 55 plus years dedicated to the amazing world of Martial Arts. I have promoted many Black Belts over this time. one has gone on to create his style which is ruing very successfully. I have way to many friends and colleagues. Friends all over the world. So much support from many local styles. Dedicating my life to the arts has been the most incredible and exciting journey of my life. So many highs and lows, so much loss and health issues. I wouldn't change a thing. I know I have made difference to so many people. I have been truly blessed because I have Fight. Thankyou every single person who has n in my life, Respect🙏

Awesome night training at Sensei Jake Brand Kempo Do-Jo last night with 6 of my Ken-Ashi-Do students & Sensei Wayne Gilmer, Sempai Mathew Gilmer & two of there students. Absolutely loved the training, the welcoming feeling and the amazing friendship. Three styles, One Whanau. Thank you Jake and every one for making this so amazing, Respect.

My latest graded students. 2 blue belts, 1 purple belt and 2 red belts. The red belts are on order. So proud of them all. Excellent effort and commitment. Respect 🙏

Going through my certificates from years gone by. The first certificate I earned from my master the late, great Grand Master Lee in the 80s. So many amazing memories especially when after all the gradings he would sometimes stay with me overnight. Respect 🙏

A fantastic energy and training tonight. Small group of 8 but we covered so so much. Worked on correct ways of blocking and counting. Did fighting and Worked on angles and combinations. Covered things that we normally don't have time to do when we have a full class. So proud of you all tonight. Respect 🙏
