Back in February members of NPSS competed in the local swim event here in New Plymouth, the Flannagan Cup swim πŸŠβ€β™‚οΈ It is a local event that has been on the calendar since 1916 and held at Ngamotu beach.

It is a great event as there are various distances to suit everyone. πŸŠβ€β™‚οΈ

For every swimmer that entered, NPSS donated towards Hospice Taranaki, Te Rangimarie Hospice (a service close to my heart).

I want to say thank you to all those that entered, swum and helped towards donating.

One reason why people attend NPSS...to challenge themselves more than they would if they swam by themselves!

This morning was a prime example of that with a spicy 🌢 main set 😜

A timed 400m and 200m (CSS test) to calculate the pace that you could hold for an endurance swim of 1.5km (without doing a straight 1.5km).

It is so much easier to do the hard mahi with other people also doing it! Great work team πŸ™Œ

I'm super excited to share with you all that myself and Jeff from jmendurance are continuing our collaboration together for 2026/27.
We offer two coaches in one full triathlon coaching package!!!

As a swim coach of New Plymouth Swim Squad, my aim is to help build efficiency, endurance, open water skills and conserve energy for the bike. Combine that with Jeff's extensive racing profile and coaching experience in Triathlon, you'll get the full support from start to finish.

Here is some feedback from two athletes who were coached over the recently completed 2025 season:

Grant: I've been coached by Jeff and Chloe for the past four months, and the experience has been excellent. During that time, training has been interrupted with injury, but having Chloe & Jeff's input helped navigate this immensely. Jeff regularly reviews training, gives great feedback, and adapts the plan around both life and injuries to keep progress moving while I was rehabbing.

Chloe's technical swim coaching has also been invaluable. Having someone poolside to work on weaknesses and prescribe targeted dry-land exercises made a big difference, especially with my shoulder recovery.

Brad: As a shift worker on a 6x6 pattern, finding consistent training time is a real challenge β€” but Chloe and Jeff make it work.

Over the years, they've always tailored my training plans around my schedule, and their communication and support have been second to none. Thanks to them, I turn up to every race feeling confident and prepared.

Beyond the training itself, both Chloe and Jeff are incredibly communicative and genuinely invested in your progress. They're always there when you have questions or when life gets in the way of training.

If you are ready to train smarter and get the most out of your triathlon journey, DM for a digital, no obligation chat with myself and Jeff. πŸ™Œ

That's a wrap from NPSS for 2025!
I sprinkled some christmas cheer through the final squad sessions because being an adult is hard and the silly season can be full on.

Merry Christmas everyone πŸŽ„πŸ§‘β€πŸŽ„πŸ€Ά
Thank you for your amazing support and I can't wait to continue coaching into 2026.

Streamlining IN & OUT of the water is important 😜 including the systems behind the scenes πŸ‘

As a coach, it really helps to know how many swimmers are attending and who (and I'm not one to wing it!) So pre booking your ocean & pool squad sessions is proving to be super helpful.

Bookeo is making it easy for all πŸ‘

So please, if you wish to join, DM me for the booking link and secure your spot πŸ‘
