Read the below to see why you should come on in and get a CTEK battery charger kit while they are on an awesome sale - $189.
Winter Is Here and Batteries Are Feeling It Too!
Cold weather puts extra stress on batteries, especially in vehicles, boats, motorcycles, caravans, farm gear, and seasonal equipment that may sit unused for days or weeks at a time.
What Cold Weather Does to a Battery
Reduced capacity
At around 0°C, a battery can lose approximately 20% of its normal capacity. At -18°C, capacity can drop by around 50%.
Slower chemical reaction
Cold temperatures slow down the electrochemical process inside the battery, reducing its ability to generate current quickly.
Harder engine starts
In cold conditions, engine oil thickens. This means the starter motor has to work harder, often requiring significantly more cranking power.
Ongoing parasitic drain
Modern vehicles, vessels and equipment are always using a small amount of power, even when parked. Alarms, clocks, computers, immobilisers, GPS systems, and onboard electronics can slowly drain the battery over time.
That is why winter is the perfect time for regular maintenance charging.
