It was great to be back in the trailer at a comp and King of the Mountain BBQ Competition is where it all started for us 3 years ago, we thought we had a pretty good cook but didn’t get the placings we wanted with a 18th overall, Welldone to on the win and winning the drinks race too. Lastly a massive thank you to the god of Taranaki Barbecue Craig Leathley Craig you are the reason Taranaki barbecue is growing, we are glad to call you a mate. If you are wanting to give it a go and see how a comp works, without the added stress of 4 proteins, big teams or the pressures of a sanctions comp, then this Amateur comp is for you.

The entry fee includes 2 x racks of Wichita Packing St Louis Ribs & your choice of 8 x Chicken Drums Sticks or Chicken Thighs & parsley

What you need to bring:
Bring a good attitude, your bbq, rubs, table to do your prep on, gazebo & anything else you may need to cook your proteins on.

On the day we will have some
Of the local and national BBQ teams around to help out, give advice and judge the food.

We also have all the local teams there to help out, give advice and then at the end judge the food you hand in.

We have some good prizes up for grabs including Smash Presses, charcoal, wood chunks , rubs and vouchers. The overall winner will get Free Entry into King of the Mountain BBQ Competition
