I have just completed my Mind-Body Medicine Course! It was a 30 hour course which took me a fair while to work my way through but I finally got there!
I would recommend having a look at the PreKure courses if you are interested in health and wellness, even if it is just for yourself and your family.
Now to put into practise all the things I have learned!

How to make stress your friend Stress. It makes your heart pound, your breathing quicken and your forehead sweat. For many of us during this lockdown, it has been exercise that has been our saviour. The ability to move our bodies and shift what is in our heads to a more positive focus!
Today I have been learning about anxiety and depression and how effective exercise is as a front line treatment or part of a treatment for these conditions. There is evidence from countless studies that exercise, even modest levels, lessens anxiety, stress and anger.
Moving elevates endorphins, boosts dopamine receptors and improves serotonin levels.
The difficulty, however, particularly for some people who are suffering is to start and then maintain an exercise programme. If you know someone who is struggling with their mental health, be their movement buddy and if there is anyone out there who wants some help from me I am happy to be coach Kath as my friends sometimes call me x

Today I am learning about antifragility, the idea that we can be MORE than resilient. We can actually grow stronger through adversity. Just like our muscle fibres break down and repair stronger through exercise, we can face certain challenges and it can grow and develop us as people. The idea that uncertainty is the only given in our lives and that is actually o.k as we are efficient and adept at dealing and learning from each new experience.

I signed up for a health course today which covers topics that interest me personally and which I think may also help those around me. The learning today is about stress and how our bodies react to real and percieved threats...something that we may all be experiencing at the moment as we deal with the unknown.
When you start to feel yourself reacting to something you read, hear or imagine, ask yourself, "Am I physically safe right now?"
Most of the time the answer is "Yes". Allow your body to remain in rest mode where you feel regulated and focused. I would love to hear what you do to help yourself when you begin to feel stressed. x
