⭐️ We are excited to announce that Carla has been voted by the Harbour coaching team as the 2026 Harbour RG Team Captain for the upcoming New Zealand Gymnastics National Championships ⭐️

Carla has been a stalwart of the Aspire and, later, Aroha Rhythmic Gymnastic teams for more than 10 years. Now in her first year out of school, Carla has stepped into a new leadership role within Aroha, becoming Lead Coach of the Orewa satellite programme.

In just two terms, Carla has coached 42 new gymnasts across three different grades, with 14 of these gymnasts being guided through to their very first competition by Carla.

A natural role model, Carla is a favourite among her peers and younger gymnasts and is often the first to offer encouragement or support when a gymnast is struggling with a skill.

Carla is known for her caring, inclusive nature and her ability to make those around her feel valued. She is also famous for her baking, ensuring birthdays and team celebrations never go unnoticed!

This year Carla has also stepped forward as a judge, continuing to broaden her contribution to the sport, although coaching remains her greatest passion. Carla embodies the qualities of a true team captain, supportive, dependable, generous and always ready to help others succeed!!!

Congratulations Carla! We are so proud of you and look forward to seeing you lead and inspire the Harbour team at Nationals ❤️

⭐️ A massive congratulations to our Aroha gymnasts that have qualified and been selected for the 2026 Harbour Team heading to the NZ Gymnastics Championships ⭐️

This is an amazing achievement and a reflection of the girls hard work, dedication, resilience and commitment throughout the season, and we couldn’t be prouder of how they have continued to push through and give their best ❤️

We can’t wait to watch you represent Harbour and Aroha on the national stage in 4 weeks time 🫶

We are SO proud of every single gymnast who stepped onto the floor for the first time yesterday. There were nerves, excitement, big smiles and plenty of moments of courage 🫶

Yesterday was about building confidence, creating memories and learning what it means to compete together. These girls have already shown us what a special team they are and what being part of Team Aroha is all about ❤️

Tomorrow is a very special day for our Aroha Junior girls as 14 of our gymnasts take to the floor for their very first competition! ⭐️

Last weekend, the girls had a practice competition and we are already SO proud of them. They showed courage and determination with many performing by themselves in front of an audience for the first time🤸‍♀️
And a special mention to our amazing parents who absolutely aced their first competition buns 👏

Tomorrow is all about having fun, building confidence, supporting one another and enjoying this exciting new experience. There are no expectations - just lots of smiles, teamwork and memories to be made 🫶

Good luck girls!! We can’t wait to see you shine. Go Team Aroha ❤️
