Welcome Mangakahia Sports & Community Complex to ReSport’s Champion a Good Cause team!

From rugby, football, netball and squash to their sell-out community meals, this crew knows how to bring people together. Now they’re collecting new and gently used sports gear to help remove cost as a barrier to sport, recreation and play across Northland.

Drop off your clean, usable gear, get along to a Country Meal and back a community that gives back.

A familiar face. A trusted voice. Welcome, Kepa Earles! 💙

We’re proud to introduce our newest ReSport ambassador, Kepa Earles of Te Parawhau.

With deep community connections, public health experience and a passion for basketball and youth wellbeing, Kepa helps turn relationships into opportunities for young people. Through his work with Te Atea Hub, part of Tai Timu Tai Pari, he supports families across Northland.

Kepa joins fellow ambassador Lani Daniels as an already powerful team. Both are well respected in our community and actively involved in youth programmes, bringing shared purpose and hands-on commitment to ReSport.

We’re fortunate to have them alongside us. Welcome, Kepa.

We’re proud to journey together, helping more Northlanders access sport, recreation and play.

A world champion with her heart in Northland. 💙

We’re thrilled to welcome Lani Daniels as the first of two new ReSport ambassadors!

Proudly Ngāpuhi and Ngāti Hine, Pipiwai’s three-time world Boxing champion brings a background in mental health nursing and a love for giving back, coaching young people and sharing her journey in schools.

Lani knows what sport can open up: resilience, confidence, connection and the chance to discover your potential. Together, we’re helping remove cost as a barrier & reaching into new communities and groups, so more Northlanders can play.

Yesterday at XDL Long Drive Hits Port Nikau | FREE Family Event

From Donated Golf Clubs to 3rd place

A few months ago, one of our amazing volunteers Lisa Ryan asked about golf clubs for her boy Ashton.

He was playing rep basketball at the time but - his passion for golf surpassed basketball. He sold everything he could, to buy his own set of clubs.

He polished the ‘borrowed’ set from ReSport, returned them, & volunteers in our stockroom making up new sets for people like him, wanting to try the game.

Yesterday, at the inaugural XDL Long Drive event at Port Nikau, Ashton placed 3rd in the junior category with a huge hit of 230.3 mtrs & he hit 234 in the playoffs.

Congratulations Ashton, we look forward to following your journey!

🏀portable basketball hoop to get young people active and connecting.
