Play Week 2026 is here! 💛

Join us this afternoon for a fun afternoon of play at Casa Nova Playground in Ōamaru! 🤸

This year, Play Week is all about whānau – whānau play, where whānau are.

Play can (and should!) happen in the places where families already gather, belong and connect. Make some time for play, connection and fun wherever you are this week!

We’re celebrating with three events in Ōamaru – bring the whānau along and get involved!

Play is more than just fun. It supports wellbeing, builds confidence and creativity, and strengthens relationships. And it doesn’t need to be complicated – simple opportunities to play at home, at the park, at school or in the community help whānau connect and thrive.

Queenstown coaches – our Coach Development Workshop with you is moving online! 💻

Join us on Teams this Wednesday night for an engaging session with Uili Kolo’ofai.

A former Otago and Tonga international rugby player, Uili is a brilliant speaker who will explore The Power of Cultural Identity.

What does this look like for coaches? What does it mean for players? Uili will unpack how culture and identity directly influence performance, shape team environments and impact individuals, teams and the wider sporting environment.

There’ll be opportunities to ask questions and interact with him, and Sport Otago staff, throughout the session. Other coaches from across Otago are also welcome to tune in!
