Many many thanks to Te Pae o Tararua: Ōtaki to north of Levin Southern Alliance (the folk building the expressway to Levin) for their very generous recent $500 donation to Ōtaki junior football.
The roading guys recently held a fundraising raffle as part of celebrating the FIFA World Cup, and their donation came from this.
Pictured is Dylan Stange from the Southern Alliance handing over the funds to Cam Butler representing Ōtaki Sports Club.

Our two junior C grade Wellington winter tennis teams met on Sunday in the penultimate round of the competition.
On a very windy Ōtaki afternoon, the Manakau Mavericks (Hunter Pritchard and Oliver Martin) showed their experience coming out 3-0 winners over the Sassy Slicers (Scarlett Beauchamp and Stewart Johnston).
The Mavericks moved into 2nd place on the ladder following the win and the Slicers sit 7th.
Meanwhile our junior A grade team, Ōtaki Kakama, and our junior D grade team, Ōtaki Acers, both had postponements on Sunday.

Well-played to Reece Litherland scoring two of the goals.
Meanwhile, the Ōtaki Master Blasters had a heavy 13-0 loss to Manakau Hui Mai in the semi-finals of the Plate competition of the Kāpiti Cup. The Div 3 Blasters gave their all against the Div 1 Manakau team.

Otaki Sports Club's Kāeaea women's football team celebrated a last home game 1-0 win against 2nd placed Wellington Emeralds on Sunday.
This takes them out of the relegation zone and have now cemented a place in Division 1 for next year currently in 6th place with one game to go for the season.
The wining goal came in the 2nd half with an impressive volley shot into the top corner by Haley Hall.
Coach Brent said we are not a team of stars but definitely a "Star Team" all putting in 100% every week .
After a number of draws this season, Kāeaea rewarded the supporters on the sideline with a home win.

A Super Sunday at Haruātai Park this afternoon with three big wins from three matches across two codes.
Our women's football team had maybe their best match of the season winning 1-0 over the Wellington United AFC Emeralds.
Pre-match, the Emeralds were 2nd in Div One with Ōtaki Kāeaea in 7th.
The win moves Kāeaea up to 6th. Coach Brent said the team played at a very high level all match to get the win.
Meanwhile on the Haruātai tennis courts, the Ōtaki Savage Killers beat the Kilbirnie Harriers to climb to 2nd spot in Wellington H Grade; and the Ōtaki Outlaws had a good win over Waikanae Gold to move to 4th in H grade.
Awesome to see the grounds and clubhouse full today, with a great atmosphere all afternoon ... and great results!
Pictured are the Killers in action at the Haruātai tennis courts back in July. Winning back then, winning again today, and undefeated so far this winter! 💪🎾
