What a weekend for our U16 Boys at the Sunny Bay Tournament in Hawke’s Bay 💙

The boys played 6 games across the weekend, and while the results weren’t quite what they were hoping for, there were plenty of positives to take away.

With a young team continuing to develop, the weekend provided some great learning opportunities, valuable game experience and plenty to work on as they continue to build as a team 💪

Every game is another opportunity to learn, improve and grow — and this tournament has given the boys some great preparation as they look ahead to U16 Nationals.

A huge thank you to the coaches, parents and supporters who made the trip and got behind the boys all weekend 👏💙

We’re super excited to announce our Manawatu Water Polo U16 Boys team who are heading away to the beautiful Hawke’s Bay next week to take on the Sunny Bay Tournament 💚

This is a fantastic opportunity for the boys to get some valuable game time together, test themselves against some tough opposition, and build towards the U16 Nationals at the end of Term 3 💪🔥

After plenty of training, the team is ready to hit the road, represent Manawatu and, of course, have an awesome time along the way 😎🤽‍♂️

👏 Good luck, boys! We’ll be cheering you on from home and can’t wait to see how you go!

The club relies on our amazing volunteers and committee members to keep things running, so we need more over-18s to get involved and help keep Manawatu Water Polo Club going strong 💙

And don’t worry about keeping the kids entertained while you’re at the meeting! From 3pm, the pool will be open for players and other family members to have a throwaround. A couple of our senior players will be there to keep an eye on things, including one who is a trained lifeguard 🤽‍♂️

So come along, get involved, meet some of the people behind the scenes, and join the fun that is Manawatu Water Polo 🦈

Rossco and the rest of the NZ U16 Boys team are all set for their first game in Zagreb tonight v Portugal at 11.05pm (NZST), following an incredible week in Herceg Novi.

They've had the opportunity to train and scrimmage against quality opposition in some truly stunning locations, and now it's time for the main event – the World Championships 💪

We wish Rossco and the entire New Zealand team the very best as they take on the world's best. Play hard, enjoy every moment, and make New Zealand proud 🇳🇿💙

U16 Men Open World Aquatics Championships Campaign The New Zealand Men's U16 National Water Polo team is gearing up for the 2026 World Aquatics Men's U16 Water Polo Championships, set to take place from 3rd of August to 9th of August 2026 in Zagreb, Croatia. This prestigious tournament will feature 36 teams from across the globe!
