🏆 Sarah Cowan — Administrator of the Year

As our Academy Manager, Sarah oversees the administration of both our Football and Futsal Academies. She is a driving force behind everything we deliver, a key figure throughout the wider club and a valued club sponsor. Her dedication and countless hours behind the scenes make an enormous difference.

🏆 Lisa Smith — Contribution to Football

Lisa is our CDL U13 Girls coach and Women’s First Team Assistant Coach alongside her administration role across the wider club and makes an outstanding contribution to our players, the Academy and the wider game. Her commitment to developing young players across football and futsal and supporting the female pathway makes this recognition thoroughly deserved.

🟩⬜️ COACH DEVELOPMENT IN ACTION 🟩⬜️

Our U14 CDL coach, Matt Argyle, was on the Astro turf this week delivering his OFC/NZF C Licence video session as he continues working towards the qualification. 🎥⚽️

This follows our U13 CDL coach, Jason Smith, successfully completing his C Licence recently, another brilliant reflection of the continued development and commitment of the coaches working within our Academy.

We’re proud to support our coaches as they continue learning, challenging themselves and creating the best possible environment for our players.

Well done, Matt, and thank you to our U14 players for their effort throughout the session! ⚽️💚

🟩⬜️ WELLINGTON GRADED CHAMPS ⬜️🟩

Good luck to our seven Academy squads and coaches from U8 through to our CDL U14s representing us at the Wellington Graded Champs this weekend! 🤩

We’re proud to provide fantastic opportunities for our players to experience tournament football, challenge themselves against different opposition and continue developing together. ⚽️ 💚

A huge congratulations to our CDL u13s coach Jason Smith, who has officially achieved his OFC/NZF C Licence (Youth/Senior)! 🤩⚽️

This qualification reflects Jason’s commitment to developing his knowledge, challenging himself and continuing to grow as a coach and through doing so has become a key member of our academy coaching team!

Coach development remains a hugely important part of our Academy programme, allowing us to create the best possible environment for both players and coaches!

A fantastic achievement for the academy to continue developing amazing coaches, a massive well done to Jason from everyone at the club! 💚🤍

🟩⬜️ THE PATHWAY IN ACTION 🟩⬜️

The Academy is incredibly proud of Ivy and Livvy, who represented our U15 CDL Girls last season before progressing this year to become regular members of our Women’s Central League First Team. Livvy also marked her step up with a memorable goal against Taradale in April! 🤩

Alongside making that massive leap into senior football, they also embraced their first ever coaching roles within PN Marist Junior Football Club, coaching the Girls’ U9/10 Angora team and helping inspire our next generation of players.

From progressing through the pathway to representing the First Team and now giving back as coaches, this is exactly what our Academy is all about.

Well done, Ivy and Livvy. We’re incredibly proud of you both! ⚽️💚🤍

🚨 ACADEMY TRAINING CANCELLED 🚨

Due to the weather affecting Palmerston North and surrounding areas, we have made the decision to cancel today’s Academy training.

With heavy rain continuing, trees coming down around the city and many of our coaches, players and parents travelling from across the region, everyone’s safety before, during and after the session must come first.

We’re proud to have our Marist Academy coaches and Men’s First Team players Darren Juru and Paul Awa coaching the Whakarongo School Palmerston North futsal team at the 2026 Zespri AIMS Games! ⚽️

It’s a fantastic opportunity for the players to compete on the national stage while learning from two coaches who bring outstanding energy, experience and passion to every session.

Another brilliant example of our Academy coaches helping develop young players throughout the wider Manawatū community.

our Football Development Centre continues to run for the remainder of term 3,4 and 1 to keep your children engaged and learning with the ⚽️!

We now run session 4pm-5pm (6-11yrs) and 5-6pm (12-14yrs) delivered by our first team player/coaches!
