Old Boys Marist is saddened to hear of the passing of Willie Walker. Willie was a tough, uncompromising lock who played over 100 games for HSOB from the late 90s through to the early 2000s and was a proud member of the 2001 Hankins Shield-winning side. A great rugby man and an even better bloke, Willie would happily put you through the turf with a tackle, then pick you back up and make sure you were alright. He’ll be fondly remembered by all those who played with and against him. Our thoughts are with Willie’s family, friends and old teammates. Rest easy, Willie. 🟢⚪️⚫️

A service will be held at Arise Church, Wellington at 9.15am Friday 28th August.

MEET THE PLAYER | KURTIS TINETTI

Tough, uncompromising, and always ready for the collision. Kurtis Tinetti from PN Old Boys Marist is the type of ho**er every team wants in the middle of the action. Whether it's throwing himself into tackles, dominating the set piece, or doing the hard yards that don't always make the highlights, Kurtis puts his body on the line for the badge every single time.

☕ Pre-game ritual: Coffee and breakfast with the boys.

💬 Best advice: "Fold them before they fold you." Simple, direct, and exactly how he plays the game.

🏉 Rugby inspiration: Ethan Blackadder. Fearless, relentless, and willing to put his body in front of anything for the team.

The engine room starts with the ho**er, and Kurtis brings the grit, physicality, and commitment that every successful forward pack is built on.

Welcome to the 2026 NZ Marist U23 Development Tour, Kurtis! 🔥💚🤍

It’s semi final weekend and we’re guaranteed one team in the final ! Maybe two… but certainly not three.

The weekend starts with an enthusiastic OBM Senior B that has a renewed appreciation of contested scrums vs the top seeded team the OBM Senior Thirds !
Rumour is the Senior Thirds have spent the week at the pub recruiting anyone with two good knees, a stable spine and an ability to scrum. What a cracker we’re in for !

The Senior A head up to Massey with the the goal of tipping over the top seeds. For obvious reasons it becomes the game of the season ! The Wallace brothers return to steady the scrum, Leighton celebrates his 50th and Moose continues to Moose.

Clubrooms will be open for 3 blazer celebrations from 5.40pm onwards ! Can’t wait to see you on the sidelines!

Then. Now. Always.

Starting out with the Lightning Dolphins in 2016, then putting in 2 full Colts seasons and 2 full Bs seasons, he’s now ticked over the incredible milestone of 100 club games.

That’s over 100 Saturdays spent pulling on the jersey, countless trainings, muddy fields, bruises, aches, early starts, and probably more than a few questionable decisions after the final whistle. Through wins, losses, tough seasons and great ones, he’s continued to show up, put in the work, and represent the club with pride.

Reaching 50 games is no small feat. It takes commitment, loyalty, resilience, and a genuine love for the club and the game. Not many players make it to this milestone, which makes it all the more special.

Today we recognise that dedication with the presentation of his club blazer. A well-earned reward for years of service and a testament to the time and effort he’s put into the club.

Congratulations on reaching 50 games. Wear the blazer with pride — you’ve certainly earned it. Here’s to the next 50… although the body might have a few things to say about that!

Then. Now. Always.
