Before it was the Sport and Event Centre, this site was known as the Institute of Rugby, built to echo the shape of the silver fern, New Zealand's most iconic sporting symbol.
Since 1999, it's been a training base for the NZRU academy and home to teams the calibre of the Black Ferns.
