Last night I was lucky enough to attend the ESNZ Hall of Fame Awards. I was nominated for Rider of the year which in its self is a huge honour. I felt incredibly grateful to be there and make the final 4 along side Sophie Scott (Showjumping), Samatha Lissington (Eventing) and Robert James (Endurance). Sitting and listening to everyone else’s results was truely inspiring and a very surreal moment to be recognised amongst them. The award was taken out by Sophie who truely deserved this award. Well done Sophie and also well done Samantha and Robert. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Brooklyn Rankin was also a top 3 finalist for Groom of the year which we are incredibly proud of and she is a winner in our eyes. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Thank you Esnz for a great night, it is nice to be recognised in what can be an incredibly tough sport with lots of ups and downs. Thank you to my team, I feel very grateful to be surrounded by amazing friends, family, owners and sponsors I could not do this without you all. Lastly thank you to my amazing horses past and present, all who have been the reason I have achieved what I have and for the reason we keep getting up every morning to do it all again. Flash back to Nationals 2026 🏆
This one has taken a little bit of time to sink in. Papanui Just Dynamite and I were fortunate to come away with the 2026 Small Tour National Championship, which feels pretty special! We also managed to take out the National Super 5 series for Small Tour, thank you to the sponsors of this series . 🏆🏆
It’s easy to view this result as a single moment in the ring, but it really represents a much longer journey, with many people behind the scenes. Particularly after last year’s injury to my neck, there has been a great deal of work and support required to get to this point. While it may look like it’s just Donny and I out there, we are very much riding with a whole team.
I feel very fortunate to be surrounded by people who give so generously of their time, knowledge and support. Results like this are never achieved alone, and I am deeply grateful to everyone who has played a part along the way. 🙏🏻🙏🏻
And to Donny – although our partnership is relatively new, he continues to step up and give his best when it counts. I feel very lucky to be on this journey with him. 🦄🦄
A proud moment, but one that feels part of a much bigger picture. Plenty still ahead, and always much to keep working towards – but feeling very grateful for the path we’re on.

It also makes me really proud to see my students doing so well, particularly Brooklyn taking out the Under 25 GP CDI with Aphrodite and Catherine West and Rambo taking out the Medium! 🤩🤩🤩🤩

She has been trained by us from the start and has been to her 1st few shows, coping amazingly with the environments and doing very well coming home Reserve Champ L1 Central Districts and Wellington Champs. She is training leg yield, shoulder in, travers at walk, trot and canter.
She is a very talented, responsive and a pretty mare. Sug loves her work, is very forward with a very active hind leg. She has great paces, including a fabulous canter.
She would suit a competent rider as she has lots of energy and loves to work.
