Meri Kirihimete to all our Unimount Bohemian members, players, families, volunteers, and supporters.
As we enter the festive season, I want to extend my warmest wishes to you all for a safe, happy, and relaxing Christmas break. This time of year gives us a chance to pause, recharge, and reflect on the strong sense of community that continues to make our club so special.
It's fantastic to see the progress at Bill McKinlay Park. The old surface has now been removed, and we are currently awaiting delivery of the new pitch from the factory, ready to be laid in early January. Coupled with our recent floodlight upgrades, these improvements will ensure we enter 2026 with outstanding playing facilities and a home ground we can all be proud of.
Across the club, recruitment is now open for all teams heading into the new season. In early January, we’ll be launching dedicated social media campaigns to support player signings. If you know anyone looking to play football next year — juniors, youth, social, competitive, or senior — please encourage them to get in touch.
Junior football also returns in 2026, including our Kickstarters programme, which continues to grow from strength to strength. Next year’s programme will be designed for 5–8 year olds and will run every Saturday morning with a skills session followed by a game:
We are excited to welcome our youngest players back to the club and look forward to seeing this space thrive once again.
Members will also be aware that 2026 marks the end of Comet. From next season, all team cards, registrations, and matchday processes will move to Sporty. We will arrange a team manager briefing well before the season begins to ensure everyone is confident and ready for matchday requirements.
Thank you to everyone who has contributed to another positive year at Unimount — our coaches, managers, committee members, volunteers, parents, supporters, and the wider whānau who give so much of their time and passion. Your commitment is what keeps this club moving forward.
