Every association has a story, and every story is built on the people who came before us. ❤️
This Labour Weekend, Counties Softball comes together for our Annual Memorial Tournament, a special kaupapa dedicated to remembering and honouring all our past angels who have played a part in shaping our association into what it is today.
Whether they were players, coaches, parents, umpires, committee members, life members, grounds crew, or supporters, each person has left their own special footprint on Counties Softball. Some may no longer be with us, but their aroha, dedication, knowledge, and passion for the game will forever remain part of our whānau. 🕊️❤️
This tournament is about more than softball. It is about remembering where we came from, acknowledging those who paved the way, and ensuring their stories are never forgotten.
As the current generation, we have a responsibility to pass down the history of Counties Softball to our tamariki and rangatahi, helping them understand the foundations on which this association was built. We want to encourage our whānau to share their memories, stories, laughs, and experiences of those who helped build Counties from the ground up.
Who were they? What did they contribute? What legacy have they left behind?
These are the stories that deserve to be told. These are the people who helped shape our clubs, strengthen our community, nurture our young players, and create opportunities for generations to come.
They were the foundation that helped develop the superstars of yesterday, passing down their knowledge, skills, values, and love for the game. Today, we continue to see that legacy live on as new generations step onto the diamond, learning from those before them and becoming the superstars of tomorrow. 🌟🥎
We are still here. We are still growing. We are still thriving. And we owe so much of that to the people who gave their time, energy, and hearts to this association.
So, whānau, if you are free, please come down, show your support, reconnect with old friends, share your stories, and be part of this special kaupapa. Bring your memories, bring your aroha, and help us keep the spirit of our Counties Softball whānau alive.
Let us honour those who came before us, celebrate those who continue their mahi today, and inspire those who will carry our legacy into the future.
