Nice to finally get a Gurnard off papamoa beach.

Had a great day out with the the old lad on in beautiful Bay of Islands. We got plenty of fish and were looked after by the amazing crew.
Plenty of food to make with the fish we took home, including a first for me, a rolled stuffed kingfish belly roast. Worked out really well and tasted delicious.

While the fishing this summer has been woeful for me so far, the NZ scenery never fails to deliver. Gotta be out there regardless. Bring on the fish!

When the kingies aren't around, catch squid instead!

Sliding kahawai live bait does the job again. A new PB kingfish off the beach at 118.5cm, 34lb. It gave the new Castizm rod a good workout. Reel - Sensor surf

Nice to catch a smoothhound. The crabs were out eating my crab hook bait so was lucky that it got gobbled up by this chucky hound.
