🟢PCC Centenary Celebrations🟡
We’re all hunkering down over the cold winter months and also celebrating a Black Caps series win in England, a fantastic series. However, it’s only 7 months to go before we gather together to celebrate 100 years of the great Paraparaumu Cricket Club.
This newsletter looks at all the events happening during the celebrations and an exciting new venture named after one of the club’s Life Members, Vince Robinson.
The Centenary Committee has been working feverishly to prepare for the event, and here’s a reminder of all the events taking place in January over Wellington Anniversary Weekend:
🗓️⛳️Thursday 21 January 2027 – Golf Day at Paraparaumu Beach Golf Club.
Competition Format: Team of 4 Stableford Points, Special Feature: Each Team to have 1 non-registered handicapped golfer – to play off 36, who will play Ambrose to the green and then putt out. Costs TBC, but there will be a number of prominent Wellington and Kapiti sporting celebrities involved, so the opportunity will be there to play alongside one of your sporting heroes. 🗓️🍻Friday 22 January 2027 – Social gathering at the Kapiti Boating Club.
Catch up with your mates over some cool refreshing beverages and enjoy some nibbles over plenty of tall stories about the day you took apart the Weraroa bowling attack.
🗓️🏏Saturday 23 January 2027 – Club Day at Kena Kena Park
Pop down to the clubrooms to watch a bit of junior cricket in the morning or throughout the afternoon to watch the senior team play and hang out on the deck, followed by some after match celebrations in the evening.
🗓️🍻🏏🍴Sunday 24 January 2027 – Festival Match @ Kena Kena & Gala Dinner
Format TBC, but likely a 20/20 match in the afternoon featuring past and present players, followed by the Gala Dinner at Club Vista, to be hosted by Wellington Sporting Personality and Sky Sport football commentator Jason Pine with special guests to be confirmed.
With costings still to be confirmed, we will provide links for you to purchase a complete event pass, or to buy individual tickets for selected events. Please note, the Friday gathering at KBC will be free entry with open bar to purchase drinks and likewise for the Open Day at the Cricket Club.
🟢Vince Robinson Centurion Club🟡
As part of the club’s 100-year celebrations, we are offering social memberships to the V.Robinson Centurion Club in honour of our late great club member Vince Robinson. Joining this club will also assist the club in much needed funds to support the growth of the game at both junior and senior level.
