Marina 2 Marina

Marina 2 Marina Marina 2 Marina is a scenic annual running event in the heart of the Marlborough Sounds. Kids Dash a 2km dash around Picton Marina for 5 to 9 year olds.

With a variety of walking or running courses to choose from, this event is suitable for all levels of fitness. This unique competition utilises the picturesque trails between Picton, Waikawa and Anakiwa. The four courses take you through native bush and along waterfront trails. A key feature is the panoramic views of the Marlborough Sounds that this event provides. You will finish at the event hub on Picton waterfront where a festival atmosphere will welcome you home. The Link, a 24km run (with optional boat cruise) from Anakiwa to Picton. The Snout a 13km run or walk from Picton Marina to the end of the Snout and back. Marina 2 Marina a 9km run or walk from Picton Marina to Waikawa Marina and back.

A little more love for the businesses helping make Marina 2 Marina happen.

A big thank you to and for getting behind this year’s event and adding a little extra to race day.

✨️ SISU have generously provided 2 x $50 vouchers for our prize pool.
✨️ Summit have contributed $200 towards our Schools Competition prize, helping us get more local kids involved, active and out there representing their schools.

It takes a whole lot of local support to bring an event like Marina 2 Marina together, and we’re incredibly grateful to have businesses like these backing our runners and our community.

Not a bad backdrop for a Saturday morning run if you ask us 😏

Past the boats, along the waterfron, down the snout and back or right along the link track, wherever you are you have the Marlborough Sounds surrounding you and this is what Marina 2 Marina is all about!

You don’t need to be the fastest out there. You just need to pick your course, get yourself to the start line and enjoy a pretty spectacular way to spend a morning in Picton.

A big shoutout to .picton, proud sponsors of The M2M 10km, brought to you by Oxley’s Bar & Kitchen!

The M2M 10km takes you from Picton Marina to Waikawa Marina and back again, a brilliant course for runners, walkers, first timers and anyone keen to be part of race day.

Oxley’s are also providing the placement prizes for the M2M 10km, giving those at the pointy end of the field a little something extra to race for.

We’re incredibly grateful to have such a great local businesses like Oxley’s getting behind Marina 2 Marina and helping us put on such a great day for our community.

That finish line feeling 💃🏼

It doesn’t matter how old you are, how fit you are, how fast you went, or whether you ran, walked or did a bit of both. There’s something pretty bloody good about crossing that finish line knowing you got yourself there.

For some, Marina 2 Marina is about chasing a time. For others, it’s about taking on something new, getting moving with a mate or simply proving to themselves that they can do it.

Whatever brings you to the start line, that feeling at the other end is 100% worth it.

The Snout is one of our most challenging (and rewarding!) courses, with plenty of hills, native bush and some pretty incredible views along the way.

A big shoutout to our friends at Marlborough, who’ll once again be helping us keep Marina 2 Marina zero-waste on race day.

They’ll be there with their Zero-Waste Trailer, washing reusable cups and dishes, collecting food scraps for composting and helping make sure our event leaves as little behind as possible.

With thousands of cups, plenty of hungry runners and a busy event village, it’s a pretty important job, and we’re incredibly grateful to have them on board.

Thanks Envirohub Marlborough for helping us look after this pretty special place we get to run, walk and explore ❤️
