Hello everyone! 👋🏼
We've had some lovely sunny days, beautiful winter mornings, and gloomy days like today 🌧️ no matter the weather, we're here to help you keep your body moving! 🌶️🔥
A few updates for our members:
• JUMP INTO AUGUST! (1 August):
Next weekend for one day only, we have guest instructor Alyssa coming back to Picton & showing us how it's done reformer cardio-style! If you've been thinking of adding or increasing your cardio workouts; the prop we love: the JUMPBOARD is here! Using the jumpboard in a Reformer Pilates class offers several clear benefits relating to cardio fitness, strength, stability & proprioception. Spaces are filling in fast for Alyssa's 8am & 9am classes on Saturday, 1 August 🏃🏼♀️💨
• NO CLASSES (2 August - 8 August):
A week break from 2 August, Sunday to 8 August, Saturday while I go away for study travels. Back on track 9 August, Sunday! Again, thank you so much for your understanding & patience. As some of you may already know, I am also a Student Counsellor, and part of this journey involves travel four weeks in a year for on-site lectures and practicums. Sounds intense, but we love it here! And I honestly cannot wait to support people in more holistic ways in the near future 🤎⛅
• STUDIO SPOTLIGHT:
It seems we're delayed with selecting our next member to celebrate this month, we're getting there! We do this to acknowledge consistency, commitment & determination; the spotlight member of the month receives a free class valid for the month - to use for themselves, or for a guest. A quick Q&A will be fired through for us to get to know you a bit better, & you will be featured on our socials for the whole month (if comfortable 😌).
• QUICK VIBE CHECK | love notes from Dee:
💦 HYDRATE - before, during & after class! Coffee & cocktails do not count, I repeat, they do NOT count... unless you're me at 6:55am on a Tuesday or Thursday - coffee or cocktails? We'll never know 🤭
🧘🏼♀️ LISTEN TO YOUR BODY - Pilates is about quality over quantity. If something doesn't feel right, pause, communicate & modify the exercise or the movement. Need to rest in between exercises? Take a breath & reset - it's not only the movement that counts but also the thoughts & the way you align your mind with your body.
🪇 THE SHAKES! - The shakes are normal - YES they are. When a muscle is challenged (especially the ones that like to chill at the back of the bus), your nervous system recruits more motor units/muscle fibers controlled by a single nerve to help keep the movement going. Shaking is often more noticeable during slow, controlled movements, isometric holds, core stability & single-leg or balancing exercises. Even experienced Pilates clients & myself can shake when an exercise is appropriately challenging. Then we REPEAT the steps above ✨
& lastly, thank you for trusting us with your health & wellbeing; we pride ourselves with classes programmed carefully through Anatomy, progressions & regressions. In short, we love to make it fun, challenging & zen all at the same time! 💞 there's SO much more to come including FORM - intermediate classes being placed back on the schedule - YAY! ❤️🔥
Your positive feedback keeps us going & it helps us become more visible to others that would like to try Reformer Pilates in Picton, but need a boost! Please leave us a review on Google: https://g.page/r/CWNvLZB1eC0hEBM/review or here on Facebook 💌 we'd so appreciate it! x
See you on the Reformer soon,
Dee 🧡
