This week we farewell Kate as our Team Leader in our Kakepuku (infants) room make sure you say goodbye her last day is this Friday!
Kate has created exceptional relationships with our families and the Mountaineers team and is going to be missed by us all.
All is not lost she would like to continue as a relieving teacher so you will still see her at Mountaineeers yay!
Jess will be transitioning in as the new Team Leader of Kakepuku and we will be welcoming a new Team Leader of Pirongia room in the near future.
Thanks for your dedication and hard work Kate we hope to see you in a few months!

We are all feeling so grateful this wonderful lady, teacher and former owner and creator of Mountaineers has come back to relieve as a qualified teacher for us starting this week with our team and tamariki!

When a child shares an idea like this, it’s not just a passing thought—it’s an invitation to take that idea for a walk.

Today, we celebrated pure curiosity: asking big questions, sharing wild ideas, taking turns in conversation, and working together to understand this complex planet we share.

As teachers, our job is to notice, recognise, and respond to the interests of our tamariki. By providing our precious taonga with open invitations to engage, explore, and wonder in their own time and space, we give them the room to become the drivers of their own learning.

Who knows where today's spark of wonder will lead us tomorrow? 🌿✨

Kia ora koutou katoa!

Today we were lucky enough to join in on some fun in the sun.

The Pirongia Community Association put on a Teddy Bears Picnic at the Rangimarie Reserve today in celebration of National Teddy Bears Day!

We brought along a special furry friend to enjoy a picnic packed with love ❤️

There was face painting, a play on the park and even a human sized Teddy bear!

Thank you for putting on this special event for the tamariki of our village! 🐻

A morning filled with lots of love, laughter and special moments with our amazing dads, grandads and whānau. We enjoyed yummy bacon & egg buns, fresh coffee and plenty of happy faces! 🥓🍳☕️

Tomorrow is Father’s Day at Mountaineers! 🥰

We’d love for all our special dads, grandads and father figures to pop in at drop-off and enjoy a yummy bacon & egg brekkie sandwich and a coffee before you start your day! ☕️🥓🍳

What a fun day celebrating Daffodil Day! Our tamariki and kaiako brightened up Mountaineers by wearing lots of yellow 💛 and enjoying some fun, daffodil-themed activities, creativity and learning.

Today we were very lucky to have a special little visitor at Mountaineers! 🐮🤎

Ange brought in one of her two-day-old calves for the children to meet. The children loved having the opportunity to gently pat him, help feed him, and get up close with such a young calf.

What a wonderful hands-on learning experience for our tamariki and another special part of embracing our country setting here at Mountaineers. 🌿🐮

A big thank you to Ange for sharing this gorgeous little visitor with us! 🤎
