It was so beautiful to see some of the Auckland DITR OGs last night.
Lauren Rogers now coached by Adrian Taihia won her fight in the main event. Very proud of this young lady!! She shared a moment with me before her fight - telling me that boxing has changed her life in so many ways and thanked me for introducing her to the sport ❤️
It was great catching up with a few others, who told me about their studies and new careers-today I reflected how far these girls have come, since we me met in 2017 when DITR first started.
I scanned the room and saw 4 more of my former students - it was like a proud mother moment seeing them all and hearing how well they are all doing.
Thank you Adrian Taihia for inviting me to your event and I look forward to seeing you at Kaikohe DITR in September.

OPERATION LOCKDOWN 💎
For many of us, the gym is our happy place. So naturally, the lockdown stirred up some feelings we did not know what to do with.
We often push ourselves outside our comfort zone at training, finding new ways to do things... Could we not do the same now?? Of course we can!! We have applied that same mentality to ensure our community is feeling safe, supported, and thriving.
So what does that look like now for us? Together our Diamonds whānau has been building a strong online network through engaging in daily fitness classes and challenges together. We are all going through this together, but all our experiences are different - the beauty in this is that we have a community of people to learn from, grow with, and thrive with.
This also means our DITR charity events may look a little different this year! The increased vulnerability of domestic and family violence across Aotearoa during this time means we need to step up now more than ever.
Big aroha to all our essential working whānau across Aotearoa.
Our gym doors maybe closed, but our hearts remain open! If you are keen to navigate this new way of training with us, or pick up some new tricks, slide into our DMs or drop us an email!
We’re all in this together 💙

Today Diamonds Boxing with the assistance of TALENT International Auckland - delivered our Christmas present collection to the Mangere Womens Refuge.
The film crew followed us - who are filming a documentary on domestic violence in NZ.
The series is called “Out of the silence”
The crew have spent the last few months with us, documenting the work DITR does to help women and families affected by violence.
A big thank you to the team at SPARK SPORT who also contributed gifts - thank you Lena (one of our Members) who organised this.
Also a huge thank you to Isaac Partridge (one of our Members), who has been selling Xmas trees to raise money for presents for children in need.
A big thank you to our DITR camp who initiated this Christmas concept and led the way.
Last but not least - thank you so much to the staff of TALENT International Auckland that gave up their staff Xmas money and purchased presents for the cause instead of receiving gifts themselves.
My sister, Kara, who is the GM for TALENT also offered to help in the future with teaching skills for future work placements, CV prep and interview training - THANKS TEAM!!!
Merry Christmas to everyone from Sarah and myself - we appreciate all your kindness and generosity in 2019 💙
