I’ve been seeing a lot of content about getting “holiday ready,” slimming down, or changing your body before going away on holiday..
In August, I’ll be going on a trip to Europe and for me, the things listed above won’t be the focus before I leave
I’m going to keep doing the things that already make me feel good physically and mentally: strength training, fueling my sessions properly, eating enough, and working toward my long-term goals
This isn’t a criticism of anyone who chooses to do a cut before a holiday. People have different goals, and that’s absolutely fine. I just want to remind anyone who might need to hear it that you do not have to make yourself smaller to deserve a great trip
In a world where being skinny is promoted constantly, it can sometimes feel like changing your body before a holiday is what you’re supposed to do
However… your enjoyment of a holiday won’t be determined by a few kilos, a smaller waist measurement, or a number on the scale
It WILL be determined by the experiences you have, the people you’re with, the memories you make, and how present you allow yourself to be
If this post makes just one person feel a little less pressure to shrink themselves before a trip, then it was worth sharing ❤️
