What an epic day at the QHDC comp! Thanks everyone for coming, and while we put our feet up and recover, here’s what our competitors had to say about “why we love dance!” 🥰

Hard work paid off for our Southland and Queenstown dancers, with everyone coming home with ribbons and medals! Huge congratulations to Zara and Heidi, NZL Highland Dancer of the Year 2026 Champions in their age groups! Massive thanks to all our supporters and to Sandra Glover for the extra support. Every competition, big or small, our younger dancers look up to the older dancers, friendships grow both kids and adults. Thanks to my mum and sis, our number one supp creww

What a fun, busy weekend in Dunedin with the New Zealand Academy of Highland and National Dancing!
Wonderful hosts thank you Ghillie Callum Club for hosting us. I always get a kick learning anything new to do with Highland Dance and sharing ideas - huge inspiration in those conference rooms and on the solo seal stage thank you! The best part is catching up with friends I’ve shared years of dancing and laughs with.

Last day to enter our Queenstown comp! Can’t wait to see you all next month!
