A big congratulations to some very well-deserving club members who were recognised at our AGM on Sunday.

Wayne Dowman and Colin Cassells have been awarded the prestigious honour of becoming Life Members of the Queenstown Bowling Club. Both men have dedicated countless volunteer hours and worked tirelessly for the benefit of the Club over many years. They have each served as Club President, held multiple positions on the Board, and consistently contributed above and beyond in support of the Club and its members.

Between them, they have won numerous club and regional titles, and now join a select group whose names form part of the Club’s proud 121-year history.

Alistair Bremer (Alfie) was also recognised for his contribution and long-standing commitment to the Club, having been a member for more than 30 years — 37 years to be exact. A plaque in his honour will be mounted on one of the Club’s garden seats overlooking the greens.

We had an amazing evening celebrating the end of the season with some delicious food and a few beverages.

Congratulations to all our winners, and good luck to Margaret, Liz and Linley, who will be representing the Club at the NZ National Champion of Champions in Auckland this coming August.
