Well done to our wonderful swimmers this morning. We had 6 swimmers in 9.5° water. It was raining hard so we got wet both in and out of the water. No swim at the Frankton Swim Lane next Saturday, we’ll all be at the winter edition at Queenstown Bay. Check it out!!

Donate to Southern Lakes Swim Club for the Coastguard New Zealand Big Swim!!

SLSC have 3 swimmers doing the big swim for Coastguard this year: Paul Jaquin, Laura Soulsby and Neil Drouet. Neil has set the bar high - aiming for 100km swum for the month (he's at 75km currently).

Coastguard Queenstown have been a great ally of our club this year, supporting events like the Pigeon Island Swim (even saving our safety kayakers!) and Whakatipu Legend, and being around most Saturdays keeping an eye on the water while we swim. They rely on donations and memberships to support their hard work, so let's give back to them!

What a fabulous turnout for our swim this morning! We had 52 wonderful friends who braved the cold dawn and jumped in for a dip or a swim! Some of our swimmers put torches in their tow floats and headed out for a swim in Queenstown Bay. Others jumped in and screamed at the cold water, then settled in and welcoming the winter solstice in the cold embrace of the water. Afterwards we warmed up and had some great conversations at ☕️ Shout out to for coming along and to for these wonderful photos. We swim each Saturday through the winter and we’ve courses and adventures through the spring and summer. Well done everyone today! We picked up a water bottle and a Dubai 7s towel, so DM us if you’re missing them 🥳

Get ready for an exciting weekend of swimming fun! 9am on Saturday we’ve our regular club swim at the Frankton swim lane, followed by coffee and warmups at the Scout hut. The weather forecast is looking super exciting, so it may be a memorable and character building experience. On Sunday we’ve our Winter Solstice dip at Queenstown beach. 7:30 for 8am on the water outside the cafe for a dip or a swim. The weather forecast for Sunday is much better, and we’ll have coffee and chats afterwards. We’ll be joined by the crew, and we’re expecting a big turnout so come along down and bring your friends! See you in the water!

Woo!! What a lovely morning for a swim! We had 10 swimmers in about 10° water. There wasn’t much sun and the water was calm and cold. We welcomed new friends from Canada and Belgium today and warmed up in the Scout hut after our swims. Next week we’ve a swim on Saturday at Frankton, then our winter solstice swim on Sunday at Queenstown beach. We’ve also got pool sessions on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, and our members chat group organises swims during the week 😊🏊‍♂️🏊 See you in the water! 📷:
