Mark your calendars—the New Zealand Trailer Yacht Association (NZTYA) events are officially locked in for Aviemore!

📍 This Year: We are thrilled to host the NZTYA South Island Championships! To make it even bigger, this event will also host the Noelex 25 South Islands and serve as the first leg of the Elliott 5.9 South Island Traveller Series. Get ready for fierce competition and great camaraderie on the water!

📍 Next Year: The stakes get even higher—Aviemore will play host to the NZTYA National Championships!

🔄 Even Bigger News: Going forward, the NZTYA Nationals will be hosted right here at the Aviemore Classic every 2nd year!

Tag your crew and start prepping your boats—this season is going to be one for the books! ⛵💨

The Club will be holding its AGM on Sunday 2 August 2026 at 7pm (online). We hope to see as many of you there as possible. Please put this date in your calendar now and make yourself available for an hour from the comfort of your own home :)

Please also note that the Club is still in need of a Treasurer as Ange will be standing down.

Introducing the STYS & Autoplex Traveller Series.

To enter in the Autoplex Travellers Series you must be a member of the STYS.
Email [email protected] for membership form, $45 membership fee for the 2026-27 season.

It’s a credit to Phill to have owned and campaigned Deep Purple. Some serious efforts to be here and almost everywhere in the snazzy Deep Purple kit. I’m not sure where such energy and enthusiasm comes from!

Deep Purple is in the South now. And while Trailer Yachting is in decline - with the baby boomers, who started the craze by building Hartleys in the 1960s now fading away slowly (actually and sadly, quickly now) there is some pockets of the next generation who are keen and so, taking inspiration from the pocket of sporty TYs in Queenstown, the Autoplex Traveller Series was born.

I’m not planning to post much here but keep an eye out for Deep Purple at these events. I’ll have a bunch of caps to give around the other boats - enough for the whole crew come Easter!

Its up for sale, I would like 20k. offering it to the people that follow and have seen the work thats been done before its out to the wider audience, I'm living abroad and would prefer to see it being sailed. Its last paint job cost 25k not including the top deck repaint and fit out. Talk to me. Look at this page if you want to see the work completed.
