Congratulations to Murray Fyell on reaching a significant milestone, in turning 90 on August 24th! Murray and his good friends celebrated his 90th birthday last week at the golf club.
Murray started golf over 65 years ago at his home town of Waimate, getting his handicap down to a credible 12. Murray continues to walk and play 18 holes most weeks and gained bragging rights over his mates last week, finishing 3rd overall for the day!
Well done and congratulations Murray!

The Thompson MacDonald Cup team played at home on Sunday with the main conversation relating to a "fortunate" shot on the 18th hole. Ricky "on the green in 3" Walker, looked in the best position to win the hole only to watch a fast traveling shot smash into the pin and drop into the hole for 4 and ultimately hand Ricky an unfortunate loss.
Still plenty of golf to be played for the side! Onwards and Upwards!!

Simon Cup update:
Rangiora snatched a win from Templeton on the last hole at McLeans Island on Sunday. Steve Williams and Dean Hikaka played a nervous last hole (Par 5, 3rd hole) to win the hole and flip the result to 4.5 - 3.5 in Rangiora's favour. Rangiora now sit 3rd on the table after 3 rounds.
