Volunteers needed please for a few hours to help get our cricket wickets ready.

Working Bee Summary – Saturday 3 October

The Rangiora Cricket Club working bee will be held on Saturday 3 October at 9.00am (weather permitting or Sunday if Saturday is a no go).
The focus will be on preparing the pitches for the upcoming season, with mowing and dethatching work to be completed across Pitches 2, 3 and 4, with Pitch 5 also to be considered depending on team numbers.

Pitch 1
* All done

Pitch 2
* Mow down to 20mm. Club rotary mower will be best for this.
* Mark out sprinklers, and pitches.
* Take down the waratahs.

Pitch 3
* Mow down to 20mm. Club rotary mower will be best for this.
* Dethatch
* Mark out sprinklers, and pitches.
* Fertilise

Pitch 4
* Mow down to 20mm. Club rotary mower will be best for this.
* Mark out sprinklers, and pitches.
* Fertilise

Pitch 5
* Depending on teams and numbers, we may look to bring this pitch up to playing standard as well.

What to Bring:
* If anyone has a place we can dump the clippings as well as the detaching off number 3 block, please let us know.
* If someone can bring a trailer to collect and move the grass clippings, that would be great.
* If anyone people have a rotary mower and can bring it along, it would certainly help speed up the process, as the blocks may need to be mowed three or four times each to bring them down to the desired height.

There is certainly a lot less to do than last year, so hopefully with a good team of volunteers we can make light work of it.

Please either reply here, message me, or email to [email protected] if you can help.

The 2 girls teams combined today in a Kids v Parents game to finish their season off.
Not sure of exact final score but pretty sure the parents won.
Although most of us are off to the physio tomorrow I think 😂
