Finally!!! On the water for mid week morning training. At last! It is such a simple joy, moving across the water as world wakes up, great people to share it with, a bit of sweat, a bit of fun, a bit of work. Best sport in the world! We need more rowers, more coaches, more volunteers... maybe this could be your new thing?

Nothing beats a super supportive coach for getting the best performance out of you...

CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS! Want something new to do in your life? Have some spare time, and want to give back to the community? Enjoy being on or near the water? Have you thought about becoming a Rowing Umpire?? We're looking to boost local umpire numbers in the BOP to help support local regattas. If this sounds like something you could be interested in, please contact the club for more details. Full training will be given, and we are specifically looking for support on Lake Tikitapu (3 regattas in a rowing season). Call me...(that's a song that's playing on the radio at the moment so message me instead)

Smashed it...

Eventually, they'll make sure I don't have a phone and I can't video ๐Ÿ˜€ But the crews know I love them to bits and no boats or blades were hurt in the making of this finish (iykyk)

Big T, from Wellington, you are a star!! This row of yours was so special on so many levels and will be a race we hold close to our hearts. Your quiet courage and determination together with your calm kindness and humor fits with the original owner of that boat. Johan is no longer with us so a very heartfelt thank you for reminding us of those special qualities and giving us reason to celebrate. You did indeed Smash it.

The Long Distance race that went really fast (a bit of a mish at the end!), nothing that can't be solved with Toastie Sammies, and Rach, always camera ready ๐Ÿ˜€

Such a pleasure hosting rowers from Wellington and Mercer. Really, we're just one big family and these are our family reunions. Wellington ladies, you'll be pleased to know we got the showers sorted!!!

Congratulations to our masters rowers who competed in the Legions Regatta at Lake Tikitapu over the weekend. The weather held on Saturday for mostly smooth rowing, if a little wet at times (don't even ask about Sunday!), and some great results for Nikoo, Terri-Ann, Vanessa and Peter. We got to share the day and boats with Wellington and Mercer, sharing crews with Tauranga, Aramohou and Hawks Bay! That's what masters rowing is all about - the fun and sharing while still competing. Always a great time!

And we're back to mid-week morning training!! And wouldn't you know it, the wind decides to drop while we're in the sheds, on the ergs, doing boot camp. Tidy little 4min race to finish off... they smashed it with happy and delighted faces the whole entire time. ๐Ÿ˜‰
