A tough T20 double-header for the Lions, with two closely contested games that went down to the wire. Plenty of fight, heart, and positives to take forward 💪

Round 7 – vs Geyser Ressies T20
The Lions went down by 21 runs in a competitive encounter.
Our bowlers worked hard to keep things tight, and in the chase the middle order showed great intent under pressure.

A true captain’s performance, leading from the front with both bat and ball.

Round 8 – vs EBOP CC T20
Another close contest, with the Lions falling short by 4 wickets.
A standout innings from AJ Hettiarachchi, who played a superb knock to give us a fighting total, backed up with a disciplined bowling effort.

Despite the results, the boys showed strong character, resilience, and team spirit across both matches.

It was a tough day for the Lions as we were set a target of 187 on a surface that got better to bat on. Despite a fighting effort, we were bowled out for 151.

With the bat, Ranga Kuruwita led from the front with a positive 39, while Sam Jay (28) and Roshan Krishantha chipped in with valuable contributions.💪

In the first innings, our bowlers showed great heart and discipline, working hard to keep the pressure on throughout the innings.

Tough result today for the Lions, but a great game of cricket.

Congratulations to BOP Indians on the win. 👏

Our top order struggled early once again, but Sam Jay steadied the innings with a classy 50, giving us a fighting total. Roshan Krishantha showed real composure with an unbeaten 32*, helping us reach a competitive score.

In the second innings, we didn’t get the perfect start, but once the first wicket fell, our bowlers turned up the heat. The pressure was on, and the boys fought hard with plenty of emotion right till the end.

A brilliant spell of bowling, finishing with 4 wickets and keeping us in the contest.
