Courier charges increase.
We endeavour to charge a flat rate depending on whether North Island, South Island, Urban or Rural all of which are different.
We try to set these delivery charges to cover costs but no more. Often the charge made to you is less than what the courier company charge.
All of these charges have increased via a fuel surcharge over recent months and now courier companies are also increasing charges for other services.
A typical notice is as attached in the image. This notice is from Post Haste, but other courier companies are doing exactly the same.
Our rates increased in line with the fuel surcharge increase recently, and we will not be applying the increase shown unless the fuel surcharge increases again.
The charges we make are intended to cover the cost of freight and no more.
Thank you for your business which is greatly appreciated

If you train a Japanese martial art, you may be interested to understand where the etiquette that is involved originated.
Etiquette is not simply a formality imposed on practitioners, it is an important part of the training experience and creates the environment conducive to positive learning in a structured setting.

For 800 years, the Ogasawara family has taught Japanese etiquette through daily actions. We learn how this cultivates self-awareness and understanding of others.

The official Aikido Shinryukan 56th Annual International Gasshuku photo
This weekend we are honoured to have Nobuo Takase Shihan, Etsuji Horii Shihan and Miyuki Kumazawa Shihan impart a little of their Aikido knowledge on us - day 1 was amazing - and am sure day 2 will be equally as enjoyable.
We would also like to recognise the 128 aikidoka that came together to make this event possible - friends from around the motu, from Queensland and Melbourne, Singapore and Japan - thank you!

We have been doing some development on our shopping website.
One of the things I asked our web people to investigate was a freight free option for special circumstances. Particularly for my own club where I can deliver items directly to the club incurring no freight charge for the students.
But I see that the option appears as the default setting on the shopping site, which was not at all the intention.
Please ensure the free freight option is not selected when orders are placed, as we only recover what it costs us.
Thank you for this, and we apologise for the confusion.
