An Adventure in Art is a vibrant community arts festival taking place at Pūtangitangi Greenmeadows Centre from 12-20 September 2026, bringing together 14 participating art, cultural, performance, and community groups from across the Nelson Tasman region.
The programme celebrates creativity in all its forms through exhibitions, live demonstrations, performances, storytelling, music, floral art, quilting, miniature art, cake decorating, and interactive cultural experiences. The event has been fully programmed, with venues, schedules, workshops, exhibitions, and registration processes confirmed.
Participating groups include Art Group Nelson, Pastel Artists of Nelson, Nelson Quilters, Nelson Youth Choir, Celtic Pipe Band Inc., Tasman Tellers, Stoke Seniors Art Group, Stoke Seniors Choir, Experience India, and others, all contributing unique experiences for visitors.
In addition, the festival features Open Studios opportunities where visitors can meet artists and learn about their creative processes, culminating in a Family Whānau Fun Day that celebrates community participation, creativity, connection, and artistic expression.
A huge thanks to Nelson City Council and CLM for supporting this programme and allowing us to put it on.

🚍 Nayland Pool Carpark Closed – Friday 21st 🚍

Heads up!!

Even though the pool is closed for winter, the Nayland Pool carpark will be closed tomorrow to accommodate 10 buses.

The school will be transporting all Year 12 and 13 students by bus to a careers event before returning later in the day.

Due to the number of buses involved, the Nayland Pool carpark and roadside parking outside the pool will need to be cordoned off so the buses can safely park and manoeuvre. Two buses may also need to park outside nearby schools during this time.

We know many parents use our carpark for school drop-offs, so this may cause some disruption in the wider school area and reduce available drop-off options tomorrow.

Please allow extra time in the morning and take extra care around the area.

🐕 A few things to remember:
• Gates open at 9:00am – no need to line up
• Dogs must be under control at all times
• Keep dogs on a short leash until clear of the entrance
• Dogs only in the pool – humans stay dry!
• Children must be supervised around the pools
• Please bring bags and clean up after your dog
• Small dogs only in the toddlers’ pool
• Aggressive dogs will be asked to leave

That’s a wrap for the season at Nayland Pools! ☀️💦

We’re down to our final hour today, and we just want to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who came through this summer and made it such a fun, memorable season. From the sunny swims to the laughter and good vibes, we couldn’t have done it without you all.

We appreciate every visit, every smile, and every splash! 💙

🐶 Don’t forget — Dog Splash is on tomorrow at 9am! Bring your furry friends along for a swim. Entry by donations.

Enjoy the cooler months ahead, and we can’t wait to welcome you back next season. Mark your calendars — we’ll see you again on Saturday, November 7th, 2026! 🌊☀️
